I have to tell you a story.

Last year I took photographs of a family at church. I was asked to drive them home one morning when it rained. I got to their apartment, and there was nothing there, nothing in the way of furniture or anything.

They needed to wash clothes, so I brought the two adult women to my house, and we washed loads and dried them. In the process of talking to them, I learned they did not have proper papers. I searched and printed forms for all of them, about 300 pages. I found out they were here from Nigeria to avoid mutilation of their female children.

I went to the pastor and told him what I had learned. The church got involved.

I gave what I could to help them, but my assets are limited.

I was adopted by all of them. I became godmother for a new baby.

Some of them went out of the country and were not allowed back, immigration came for the others.

My sweet friends are now in Ontario, and my heart breaks for knowing they had a valid reason to seek asylum here. The men were working; they were trying to get papers.

The system, it has robbed those of us who loved and cared for this family, of loved ones.

A broken system does injustice to all of us. Just my take.

I talked to my adopted daughter tonight, and I am going to see what I can do to get phone service to Canada. It was so good to hear her voice.

Tenderness

I feel unworthy
Of all the blessings bestowed,
My weakness I know,
But God uses broken ones
To reach those who need His touch.

Sometimes the lesson
Is taught within the struggle,
We learn His mercy,
We can convey the message
To those mired in great distress.

Nothing without Him
Would I be, have, understand,
For Christ carried me
Through catastrophe, doubt, pain,
He is my Forever King.

Praise Jesus who is,
Was, and will always be, Love,
Sent to free captives,
To restore the fallen to
Life throughout eternity.

He holds our futures,
Jesus accompanies us
In our darkest hours,
He has not given us up,
He redeems and frees us all.

I feel unworthy
Of all the blessings bestowed,
My weakness I know,
But God uses broken ones
To reach those who need His touch.

This will likely appear in the July issue of the magazine I copy edit. I think the publisher chose it after I shared it with him.

So, about the lost Fitbit…

DSC02722

God and I, we are close. So I reminded Him who I know He is, and who I sometimes realize I am. I told Him I believed in miracles because I have seen the work of His hands, and I asked Him to show me again. I took that praying walk alone. Covered a lot of ground to no good result.

Then since my Marbles is supposed to be part the breed of the very best scent hounds, I took the dogs out.

It is extremely tough to see a rose gold bangle among leaves. The dog did not find it. There was a sparkle, just a glimmer, I uncovered it. Fitbit found, God with me again, as always, though I do not always know, and doubt.

Oh, yeah, I believe in little everyday miracles, and I believe nothing is too unimportant to pray about, God is never too busy to help us. He loves for us to call out to Him. He loves us as His children, and a good father always listens. The best, help any way they can. Trust God, He is for you, forever.

Random Thoughts, Considerations on Being

My maybe resolution to use this new journal more positively seems to be working. I thought if I do not give my negativity place by writing it out, perhaps I can banish at least a percentage of it from my days. This would be wondrous.

The thoughts on those pages are only a beginning. These issues, I hope to cover in more depth. Creativity, love, and reality with their relationship to one another, and the causation of action their interaction begets are of extreme interest to me. I am somewhat working on a book about Creativity in which I intend to explore all these things.

As a Prompt: Do you know what you believe about creativity, love, and reality? Have you expressed it for clarification to yourself? Why not explore it creatively?

I thank you for reading, I hope something here inspired or encouraged you to remain active on your creative journey. If you like, follow Haphazard Creative, or return at your pleasure. May all your endeavors be blessed.

I am grateful:

  1.  I have come to a new appreciation of life and accomplishment.
  2.  Time is fluid, but I must grasp each experience.
  3.  Marbles has become somewhat more manageable.
  4.   I started a new journal.
  5.   Kindle is excellent to read on.

As you go through your day, remember there is love surrounding you, and you have gifts, talents, and skills of immeasurable worth. You are a blessing.
