Regaining Will

Self-destruction is
A game to play when fading
Is not quick enough
A take away to meet needs
Of emptiness and disgust.
Life seems long, wasted,
But then time to mourn those lost
Sets wonder on course
To mend what can be reckoned,
To die seems less gift than cost.
Useless, ah never,
Broken, repairs still to make,
Friendless, the streets call,
Life an elegance, challenge,
Do not give in or give up.
Every human has
Something to share much needed
In a world that spares
No one the dregs of sorrow
Still, hope brings joy, tomorrow.

Those of you who take time to read, maybe share a like that lets me know I am reaching; I appreciate you so much. This is one of my difficult seasons; I take one of my turns. The desperate fight goes on, but I am here; I will not give up.

Fires are burning, yearning for peace, strength, hope, and love to take me on. The battle rages through my ages, and it is hard to carry on. Long and longer love, it will, I will keep on.

2022 Creativity Project – March 31

Cravings Sprung

The troglodytes begin to emerge,
Ghosts dreams awoke from deep dens
Of Winter before treasure could find
Shredding away heavy layers when
Dawn comes very soon to expose
Vulnerable skin, while still outside
The new bloom adjusting delicate Faces questioning creativity in tastes
Unmasked to the feral light, will love Last from what has passed in depths
Still carrying hope through coldness,
Lonely night, which somehow in Dreams became natural, joy breaks,
Once left behind, no nightmares,
Not one, please; whispers usher in
Companionship, only those giving
Lives new life, songs, overwhelming
Delight – passing all the goodness on.
Dens which harbored life, dreams
Foggy as ghosts left behind for open
Spaces, seeking the prize – existence,
Smiles broad on faces made meaning
Finding love in varied places, eyes Full, creation rising, discovering the World is still beyond reach of oblivion
From glacier to desirable, beautiful,
All welcoming senses, belonging.

I wrote two poems today, and then I thought, why not put them together as one?

As a PROMPT: Find two works and combine them as one. Troglodytes and Ghosts worked for me, what will you use?

Fortunate Incantation

Two dogs, a plenty,
Books in shelves, also in stacks,
A bed with three quilts
A refrigerator works
Windows filled with ample woods
A voice for singing
Don’t Stop; Don’t Look Back; He Reigns;
Imagination
Seeing, hearing, being all
Extraordinary yet let
Visit worlds beyond
Coming home to those stories
Rooted in loving
Sharing, caring, family
Friends on whom one can depend.
A home to cherish
With space enough for freedom
Where work can be done
Everything all together
An answer to much prayer.

2022 Creativity Project – March 29

I swept the leaf fall and sticks off the trampoline today. I found algae growing in the seams at the edges. I tested those places; they seemed alright. The springs have rust, but that usually means little.

I took a tether hook and twisted it into the ground to hold Wookie. I arranged music and settled my other stuff. Wookie liked being out.

I was tentative about jumping, mostly walked around that air walk way one does on trampolines when not using one in ages.

After only three or four songs, I was done. My knees did not appreciate ny choice of any.

I cannot rock it like I once did. Being out was different. I will have to adjust.

The Spring is a languorous dream stretching from Winter to Summer. It will have one believe it is destined to stay, but one learns seasons are fickle. A sweatshirt for morning, a tank top for afternoon. Relief tied to the phases of the moon. Long walks in.dusky dark holding hands with someone who cares. Dreams made real if not come true.

I wish the best of all things for you.

I am making this short, I had to take out my contacts and my glasses are a bit outdated.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.

New Beginning

March takes her final bow
And breathless all await April
Where Easter will grace us
With the promise of resurrection;
May we each find what is best
To give our souls rest and turn
Our hearts to new spings of love.

Listen to the breeze carrying
The birds’ songs of joy
Breathe in the sweet scent
Of flowers newly bloomed
Let prayers for peace, healing,
And better days reach Heaven,
Find God’s benevolent grace.
