Frogs Round Pond – © Jo Ann J. A. Jordan

WHAT is NEXT?

When the tide is out
The sun gone beyond the edge
Color fades from Winter friezes
Dogs are all off their leashes
No one listens to one who teaches
Each paper sings variants of the blues
Songsters lament the financial news
Restaurants run short of every condiment
Virologists debate safety confusing us
Inflation has another round at the gates
Climatologists think dates are running very late
This phone, that phone, add status + pizzazz
Libraries make a late-inning pro-comeback
Periodicals become counterparts to dinosaurs
Pen + paper enjoy a modicum of popularity;
Who, one wonders, are people in these disparities?

Some desire new overtures of romance, kiss
Other days blanket forts seem adequate, bliss
Dressing up to the nines feels great sometimes
But who can spare an effort the costumes to find?
Those who will – make ostentatious video
Hoping to gain sponsors to the show
Yet, simple as hours continue to flow
Today follows yesterday, predates tomorrow
And if people allow it, LOVE prevails as it goes.

Prompt
It is a Friday sort of day, and I am running on fumes. Ask yourself a question, as specific or ambiguous as you dare, and create something from there.

GRATITUDE
I am thankful:
1) I am mobile
2) I write my schedule most days
3) Burning out seems more likely than fading away
4) Love Wins
5) Neal Stephenson writes incredible tales.

Since you visited Haphazard Creative, I would appreciate your like; follows, repeat visits, and recommendations are also great. If you have anything beyond that, there is a comment section.
Roll with the punches and remember at the end, LOVE is all there is.

Prompt

What or who is your spark? When you call upon deep motivation, how does it manifest? Create something that symbolizes your vitality.

Loose

The love-ly life-time
Is the moment creation
Sparks into places
Unimagined, leads higher
Than, there exists right to dream.

Testing the wind-blown breeze
Tasting Love in the air, free
Believing despite
A treacherous heart, doubt-filled,
A detective sorting clues.

Singing a new song
Unpublished, never performed,
Still clearing the silence
Measuring the notes, fitting words
Hallowing the Savior, Love.

Poetry pours out
Like floodwaters from downspouts,
A spider seeks sun,
A courtship began anew
Becomes brighter, lighter hue.

Taken by hand, head,
Heart – given what passes for
Music on clear page –
To devotion forever
The Lord Jesus Christ – soul saved.

Gratitude List
I am thankful:
1. I slept well.
2. The injuries from my fall seem minimal.
3. The books I am reading.
4. Having an unusual mind.
5. This life with which I have been so manifoldly blest.

Prompt
When you see, do you? When you know, do you? When you listen, do you hear? Explore and create.

The Page Zone
Life begins, certified,
Mother_often_Father:
Name, weight, length,
Prints; fingers, hands,
Toes, feet – absence, presence,
Entrance – cries, Time, beginning,
Gathering days, years, reams
Expended in documentation,
Education, personal formation.

Creation – becomes a diversion,
Words like biscuit crumbs
Left by writers unlocking
Doors unknown until
Taken there, discovering life
Or some facsimile, opening
The verbal tendency which
Sudden makes prints as
Individual as taken at birth –
The voice a whisper escalating
Toward a scream with every
Stroke quoting self on what
Life shows: dreams, hope, visions,
Explanations of being, Love, meaning.

Cellphones, with inborn editing, allow me to change reality in lines at file.

Google gives those who partake, all-knowing. I often refuse to invoke the monster.

Sound is it, echoes, or just white-noise? I listen to the story while experiencing another story.

Gratitude List
I am thankful:
1. Sleep is not forever, but near enough.
2. Heroes.
3. Sometimes finding the vein.
4. Collecting.
5. What is worse, morphing to the acceptable.

Should you wish, please give Haphazard Creative a like, follow it, visit often, and share with others. Any comments, ideas, suggestions are welcome. Bless you, as life comes full tilt.

Five Card Draw – © Jo Ann J. A. Jordan

Five Card Draw

1)
I have no language
For these desperate words, needs,
Buds begin showing.
Will you ever notice me,
Listen to the ebb and flow,
Know the dreams I am?
I wait, quiet, a vision
Wishing, hoping, still
Wondering I become this
Blushing shadow breathing; left.
2)
I say to myself,
“I will eat salad, for health,”
Better intentions,
I buy it with open joy.
The refrigerator keeps
The package secret
In its shelved bowels, cool
As rock stars at night –
I would be and consume it,
But alas, it went to rot.
3)
I have always grown
Among the wild outcast weeds
The thistles and briars –
Thistle made a color in,
Was it the sixty-four box?
It might be some pink,
If memory serves – welcome;
Years propagate like
Dandelions invading,
Fescue forgets how to fight.
4)
a.
No one goes there, but
Sometimes, whispers make the eaves
Echo like thunder.
b.
The tree I planted
Grew strong, tall, as intended –
Visited no more.
5)
a.
Once before I fell
Into love, but escorted
Out, I made away,
Too long dismissed, boredom chilled
The fragile blossom expired.
b.
Hurt is tread-down grass,
Words that fray confidence.

Prompt
Create using note cards, scrap paper, note pads, anything that gives a different size and shape to your usual material. This sometimes unlocks ideas and imagination in ways seldom experienced.

1. Simple things can inspire me
2. I do not give up easily
3. Jesus is my Rock and Salvation; He is present in all my days.
4. Being able to work on my phone
5. Sodas

Direct Lines

The chosen lines give
Indication and inclination
Future to reveal
Where lessons taught yesterday
Make the present stand to say
Whatever there may conceal
Though better given would be
In those rivers long run
Faithful to the abounding sea
Where eventual nets remain always
Forever thirsting inked free
All this too high and lofty
To discern in mediocrity
But maybe ascertained by hearts
Raging with just pure love
Dependent upon the Lord above
Who is to every seeking soul
Completely available in petition
Within His grace to be extolled
Setting captives sudden independent
Of stifling claims, doubt, which no longer
Serve to hinder purpose, instead
Building minds in creative thought,
Bodies becoming sound with lithe strength,
Calling treasures truth to speak.

Prompt:
If you sit with no concrete decision and allow your mind to wander, you may be surprised by what arises. If the well of who you are – thus inspires you, create.

Thankful List
I am grateful:
1. My mind.
2. My heart.
3. My love for others.
4. My dogs.
5. Being on my own.

I meant to write something about the photo; because my being short, I had extreme difficulty changing the bulb and returning the fixture, but I find I have no lines. I like the image, despite, so it is here.
