It is no palace
Some things are well beyond my
Remedy, yet still
It is my comfortable
Space, the home, my dear heart place.
I can hide my breath
Within the sheltering walls
Where no one can hurt
Me unless I bring them inside
Allow them the time to rage.
Safety is around
Me like a cloak sheer but warm
Protecting from storms
I can never leave here long
For my soul calls me back home.
Today I find songs
Words to carry me away
While yet here I stay
My mind is a traveling
Show, taking me where I wish.
No house, ah, no one
Can hold me to one ground space
I am all over
Though here I often abide
Life takes me off, everywhere,
I am myself, poet, writer,
Seer of mind, heart, and all wheres.
