Tanka in Review
1
Authority frames
Work and yet, there is freedom,
Which allows it more
The words like dear angels soar
Above, around, ah, galore.
2
We can walk away
But then nothing changes us,
Going in, ignite,
Becoming a fertile vision
Aflame with noble purpose.
3
When we are the low
We aspire to reach the high
We try, then begin
The climb to futures, desire
Claims the top, grasps childlike.
4
A feeling sighs in –
Clouds above traveling high
Untouched, but by sky,
Racing, racing to apply
Image, magic, before rain.
Prompt
Tanka is a favorite of forms; these are syllabics of 5-7-5-7-7 count. Try some.
Reading seems to be a great inspiration to me. If you have the opportunity, read widely and much.
