All of these are phenomenal books. You will do well should you pick up any of the list. There is a mix of older titles and more recent ones. I would do full reviews, but there are too many.

Music, reading, and writing are balms to the soul too wild to slow down. Attention becomes affixed, and gaps in time no longer seem to yawn. Apply the salve to better continue.

Creativity Project, 2022 – Day 122

Arithmetic/Time

The pain felt when all
Is over; skin hits asphalt
Vultures roost nearby,
But that is not the story,
It is love refusing to die.
Rolling in the grass
Off the road, beside, reaching
For Heaven’s embrace,
Pale a moon face challenges
The night to blot out light.
Beauty unwaning
The years consume every time,
Gifts made to offer
Educating heart, mind, soul
But still seeking meaning bold.
Who, Who, an echo
Through deep darkling moments, lost
No answer, the cat
Licks the saucer placed before
Here where strangers could soon run.
This is not just now
This is the sum of equations
Worked out through ages
Everything is, nothing left
Outside the hours which survive.

Have you ever wanted something to be true, but all the answers came up empty? I hope it has not happened often.

Asphalt burns after you slide along it, acquiring a scrape. It burns long after too. Life can be that way. Riding a wagon steering with the tongue almost guarantees it. Hurt teaches, if one survives. Fire is no fun, though, when a fall is taken.

I hope all is well with you and wherever you are. Bless you!

2022 Creativity Project – Day 121

Dwelt

Living the diamonds
Of yesterday’s fondest dreams
Making tomorrow’s shining destiny
Today playing round ankles
Fascinating a smile’s pinpoint curves.
The shadows past whisper breezes
Curtains drawn against heat
Passion boils a conclusion spent
With little worry, consequences meant
And time, all it buries in yards for rent.
Blind and hurry chasing those
Who names will not remember
Giving up love rather wallow
In polluted rivers, dismayed
Thus cheering for thousands gave.
Bending and bustle
Air wheezing and hacking
But trees seldom seen
Where will everyone hither
When no more care to listen
Because the voices become screams?
Rotted, worn, trod upon dreams.

Day 119 – Creativity Project – 2022

Amplified

Some scream, others scheme,
Almost everyone believes
It all falls apart;
Never completely certain
Theories may truth entertain.

Life maintains beauty
Standing in wake of cruelty
Denying pain stings
With tears, bruises, forgiving
All, though the open grave yawns.

Unease becomes love
When one offers affection
Without asking pay,
Providing enough to send
Hungry shadows far again.

The spirit who thrives
In freedom, whispers delight
Avoiding deep shades
And hands angrily raised
Willing to live tomorrow –

Whatever the future plight.
