I reach but let go, time and again. This week I won the Roses. I accomplished unexpected things. Give yourself figurative roses for what you did well.
I finished some paperwork of a mandatory description. I ordered (first time) groceries online and picked them up, saving effort and time. I contacted the insurance company twice to resolve an issue that was a considerable cost. I attempted to empower a friend. I began a routine I hope will strengthen the portions of my body that are causing discomfort and are debilitating. I finished Lore which I mentioned I was reading in an earlier post.
I am in the mood to give this site up, but I am not one to bail on things I start. I could go; I have to have some serious debate with myself over it.
Is there something you are finding hard to continue? You realize your unique combination of skill and intellect is a given no one else can match or share. You have purpose and reason; everything for someone depends on you. Think before you quit; remember, believe in yourself and what you contribute. You are a light for faith, grace, mercy, and love. Hey, though, do not prove it by me or anyone else; you have to be the proof to yourself.
I am just someone ready to stop what I love because it is not enough for good. The whole thing is up in contention for if it will make me feel like it wins Roses.
Footsteps like snowflakes Track along slender edges Of a welcome dream Where though long over, a love, Survives the mists hiding time. Clinging to sentences Maybe voiced or perhaps dreamed, They create a smile In innocent forever There is happiness again. Somethings sweetest hold Onto semiconsciousness And in bleak moments Arrive within to carry Pleasure and hope continuing; Augmenting belief In the goodness of living So one steps forward Not forsaking the future But attempting to obtain Such love as is possible.
Amens The light of day approaches soft as a kiss The straw and trees become I clearly hear the arrival of birds A rooster in the distance crows As I open the door for the dogs I brace myself for the chill; Morning a pleasure given By God who holds it in His hands.
I Already Know The soft caress of love after long loneliness Being chosen for surprising tasks which honored me Studying and learning more than I dreamed or expected Living a fortunate life, blessed with family and friends; Life is a compendium of every moment we come through Sometimes we are generously blessed beyond our stress.
Prompt Write about your own amens or something you know already or even about the photograph below. Create something if you are a visual artist.

Prompt Today, I rose before the sun and wrote seven poems before lunch, four of which I share. Unlucky thirteen? How is thirteen for you? Do you fear it or defy it? Create something!
Swerve The path ahead is narrow There is little space to waste A moment out of real-time, But coming round a curve The sudden traffic stops, swerve! On the grass, signed, “Keep Off!” The forest beckons, a dream welcomes, Crystal shines, the path behind, But entering the story between the lines Adventure takes hold, sweeps off the reek Of buildings and pollution, here safe to keep – Creativity impinging every minute, wild awake.
Sometimes Red, Others Green The mind can close, bars in, gates down, red, Tools to separate ideas, thoughts, imagination – pushed Until the opening, green, when everything flows Bringing chaos together, intellect unleashed – tempestuous dreams.
Place Yourself The page, a world, wide-open, The canvas, an ever-emerging vision, The photograph, anything, anywhere, seen, The pan, pot – whatever is gotten, mixed, hot, The lesson captured wisdom, learning sought, The film, bringing imagination alive, action caught, The music, no static, instruments, voices, well-arranged, The business, constant motion, full-accounting, bills paid, All things in unison, talent-focused, money made; Ideas merge artistry, creation, creators, each trying To make life worth the sands running down, The moments a treasure, pleasure, of being – Who we become on the journey toward Heaven’s gates.
Bits of Evanescence You, whoever thought pronounces thee Are not in any sort of captivity Though you may feel caged, you are free To be the one you want and need to be. This world, its shadows are not yours, mine, We transform what seems into joy we find When our souls are given ample space, time, To become caring, gracious, generous, kind. No barrier can imprison, prevent, shackle Love, It goes wherever hearts open to the treasure trove Carried in all the feeling fully expressed Given to others without return’s expectation, blessed. Happiness born in simplicity Sharing the goodness of spirit, aptly, Feeding the yearnings, bestowing energy, To turn life into Love’s overwhelming ministry.
However, Whatever, Wherever, Whenever, Why? Volume Twelve will begin soon, either today or tomorrow. I finished filling Volume Eleven this morning in an extraordinary burst of verse. I started it on Saturday, June 19, 2021, and ended it today.
Gratitude List I am thankful: 1. I got up early today after falling asleep exceptionally early last night. 2. Writing seven poems in one session. 3. I did not have to go out yesterday because I had a virtual appointment with my doctor. 4. Having no reason to go to town today. 5. Still mobile, still here; every day is a gift.

Dig deep, Hold the trenches. You know The last line. Your mission Is to develop The concept from The first. Do your best Be tenacious, Keep the smile Let it grow. Invest your Heart to each, Every part, Let love show.
I wrote down a few lines in the wee hours. They grew, changed, and became.
PROMPT Do you ever make a jotting or sketch on a notepad, scrap paper, or in your journal and put it aside? I challenge you to look through these thoughtfully and find something from which you can create.
This little bear that was Mom’s fascinates me, and he seems to have such an attitude. Sometimes I look at him and think that he has set to sea for an adventure, but he maybe has the thought, “Should I go back?”
We are often like that when we begin something that overwhelms us. There will be many similar days in 2022. We must remember our dreams and toss the confusion in a heap to the side. Twists and turns will come, but turning back is not an option. The past does not hold its doors open for us.
A song by Styx called, “Come Sail Away,” tells the story of a captain who sets sail on seas unknown and encounters memories reflected in the waves. He is propositioned by angels singing, “Come sail away.” The angels climb aboard their starship and fly away into the skies, to his surprise. You may ascertain Styx is one of my favorite groups.
I mention this song because we often set a course and are diverted by what we see as “angels,” which will not bring us to what we intend to create if we allow them space or follow them. Surprises are pleasant, but be judicious. You are the captain of your life.
Today, I read John 10. The main heading was The Good Shepherd; Jesus is our Shepherd and the Door for us. Studying the BE Commentary, I learned something. Did you know that the pens or folds that held the sheep were built of stone? The folds had no doors or gates. Did you know that the good shepherd lay in the gap at night to ward the sheep? If anything happened to the flock, He was right there. Such a beautiful picture of Jesus.
I encourage you to study the Word of God and find the many treasures it offers.
Gratitude List
I am thankful: 1. Somehow, I came up with a few things to share. 2. I called AT&T because my Broadband 1 light had been flashing red for about a week. They were sending someone to do whatever was required for repairs tomorrow, but later they fixed the line somehow and are not coming. WIN, WIN, WIN! 3. The heat works, since we have Winter, at the moment.
