Errant Lines

It may change nothing
When I tell you, “I Love You,”
But my heart bleeds true.

When death takes someone
And shackles a living heart
To lingering loss
It is, and over-felt, cost,
Touching the ones left alive.

I am the swift ghost
Too quick for you to see past
The things you condone.

Why is it I want
The things I cannot obtain?
Life remains worthwhile.

You gave me passion,
A desire to chase after,
Love left unobtained.

You always turn up,
A memory I still keep,
Troubling my sleep.

Is the gift given
Something positively real,
Or something I feel.

My dear, I do give…
I wish I could somehow show
You all your meaning.

Whatever we did matters;
It taught us to create love
Everywhere, every way, now.

It is no cheap thing,
But an increasing need
In the real world: LOVE!

Sad songs, puppy dogs, and pictures,
To recall when you could not go on.
Yet here you are, and the memories
Are why you have the moment which
Provides all the happiness you never
Believed would be yours this time.

It is, forever shall it be, despite me.
I am a minnow in a vast lake
With no way to understand
Everything outside of me.
So many things try to swallow me.
Life is brief; love is never free.
My heart is a difficulty,
It encompasses everyone with me.

Hitch a ride over
Mountains, hang an anchor on
A star; be, you are.

Today’s Prompt: Attempt some brief stream of consciousness works. Try to capture a feeling, encouragement, inspiration, or statement of the world as you see it.

Gratitude Today
Alex and I had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings.
We hiked the trails at SCSP.
I took photos I like with my friendly little camera.
I wrote most of the above shorts in the middle of the morning/night.
I wore my “Be Your Own Muse” sweatshirt, which is one of my favorites.

Thanks for coming; I hope you found things fun. To follow, choose the WordPress Reader Follow Button, sign up for email updates, or use RSS. Drop me a line; I love comments and suggestions.

Inspire

Gratitude Today
I caught up on a little sleep.
Alex got news on his new position.
I drank more water.
I went to a celebration dinner with Alex at Outback.
I found new elements to use.

Prompt:
Take something you say to yourself or would like to share with others and create an eye-catching design to highlight your message.

Thank you for visiting Haphazard Creative. There are three ways to follow; WordPress, email, and RSS; pick your favorite or if you prefer, come back as you can.

Poems, Notes, Reaching Up

A child grows beyond
The imagination of
A parent, success.

*******

Don’t blame the rain
For the renewed tears and pain,
It is the season.

*******

The song is a balm
Making this life bearable,
Keep the music on.

*******

If I held your heart
Would you let my love remain
Despite everything,
I am beset with fears, failures,
But my heart is true to you.

*******

Prompt: Create something or a series of things that are short but complete. There are no rules, except anything is acceptable. Do not try to be perfect; it is impossible; be talent on display.

Gratitude Today:
My package came, not where they claimed.

Voyage

The sails are paper-thin
The boat afloat in the wind
Tossed about by frothing waves
Days fast passing, a coming of age,
No slowing, nor stopping, keep coping,
With the turning, another completed page;
The calendar with its blotted stains
Marks the passage, victories, and pains.

Shining faces graced by sweetest smiles,
Blessings, dreams, hopes continually persist,
Never obsolete, out of fashion or style.

The paper sails of fragile ships set
Upon streams to weather storms
Tack away from all extremes
Which threaten the mercurial existence
Of a future freely brought by invention,
With creativity, heart, and intuition
Souls dance love, meaning, gentleness,
Composing lives, elements of all that is.

GRATITUDE
My son, Alex, is here to spend a few days.
I warmed the house enough, I can wear a tee-shirt.
Work was done on the theme here.
Had an M&M Blizzard today.
Just thankful for blessings.

Prompt
If you are not already doing the practice of noting your gratitude, I suggest you do it. It is a buoyant practice.

Thank you for visiting Haphazard Creative. There are now two methods of following: Using the Reader, which is accessed by the button, and by email, which you may find lower down the sidebar. There is also RSS.

Keeping, As Might

© Jo Ann J. A. Jordan

Maybe it is such
An easy thing for some, but
For others proves a trial,
Errors
Continue adding up,
Dark clouds fill the horizon.
A refusal to quit
Being, dreaming, hoping,
Unfathomable
As specific thoughts may seem
An allowance meted freely,
Possibly altering faith, love.
Holding
To knowing life –
Assured in greatness;
Never giving up,
Victory counted dear, very near,
Climb, effectuate blessedness.
