2022 Creativity Project – Day 24

I went to town today to get my medicine. A small God Thing happened.

The pharmacy called me and told me I had to go today or they would put the prescriptions back. They misunderstood me when I said I would come and put the drugs away. When they reran them, it halved my bill.

Because I am in a delicate position financially, I felt blessed.

1
Tempers like wildfire
Range through angry hearts of men
No fence keeps them in.
2
Love is not easy
Dedication is required
We must share our fears.
3
Laugh as pain delights
Hide the tears, swallow the screams,
Make light of hurt, too.

Prompt
Share something from your life that you feared, but then it turned to your advantage.

Gratitude List
I am thankful:
1. I made it to and from town safely.
2. I ate at Del Taco.
3. I got my meds, drinks, and sweaters and had credit left over.

I repaired that pen today, and I am delighted. I have not used it in months because the tiger eye portion with the claw would fall off. It is one of my favorites, so yeah, excellent.

No Amnesty
Old wars never die
They revolve their rebellions
Around life, many ways, each day
We think we have fought them free,
But they tangle our laces,
Our learning, being, all we
Trust and whatever runs off
Like water rushing conducting dams.
Old wars remember – lest we forget,
Who fired what, took where, when,
Destroyed which, wanted how;
Winners and Losers
Definitions in futility, insanity,
Because only war gains – humans lost.
Some glorify war
To draw innocents in with zeal,
But killing is never beautiful,
Death is not a swell romance,
The ending is only always cruel.

Frippery
For a moment you
Took space, thought, within my mind,
I wished once again
There could be a place we were;
But you chose no long ago.

SneakyTanka
Life, poetry, prose,
All the writing which we know
Is better when we
Use proper punctuation
With distinct elocution.

Living Love’s Property
The parameters
Of the heart
Ages set apart,
Where dreams start
To confirm
Passions burn,
For those with
Whom we yearn
To entertain
In persuasive part
Set far beyond
Normal time
In such space
Where the heart
Rules without warrant,
But rhythm, rhyme.

We have the love
Given from above
To make beautiful,
In a fortunate way,
Our tender hopes,
Dreams willed to stay
Forever with
Each other
On display.

PROMPT
Read an article or story and catch some meaningful phrase that delights your imagination. Create from there.

Gratitude List
I am thankful:
1. Sometimes, things come together, even without a plan.
2. Broken hearts can speak volumes.
3. Household items have myriad uses.

2022 Creativity Project – Day 22

Freedom/Anonymous

We anonymous
Never real to one another
Experience, perceptions,
Family, friends, yet strangers;
Unable to penetrate beneath
The persona presented with
No consciousness of masks
Picked up from some lofty self.
One day we think we will
Discuss our truth but opportunity
Sails away like a liner voyaging
Into some distant port where
What we thought to reveal
Is lost in the marketplace of
Ideas, conjecture, composition,
Suddenly it becomes too late.
We realize we do not have
Complete control of ourselves,
The truth we believed we knew
Is less specific than solidity
Of the objects populating our lives
Riddled with emptiness between
Atoms we cannot but trust
Will continue supporting us.
It all seems a dream, but more,
We build a world around being
Recognizable, though we are
Less known than guessed
Some inkling of spontaneousness;
Even loves, too little comprehend
As lives are shared between
The lines, staving off loneliness
Though together, separate;
Living life anonymous.

Prompt
What are the definitions you apply to your relationships with the world? Create something that illustrates your position.

2022 Creativity Project – Day 21

Sometimes I am flooded with feelings of good fortune. There are choices I have made that seem almost blessed.

When I got my first cellphone, a BlackBerry, in 2009, I joined Boost Mobile. After a couple of years, I did Auto-Pay because Boost kept my rate stable. I still have the same provider. I get a deal like no other.

After having a BlackBerry, an HTC, and a Samsung, I settled into having Samsungs ever since. The screens are a favorite feature because they are crisp, clear, and colorful.

Okay, I hate commercials, and the above may seem commercialist. There are times when friends have trials with companies that I am tempted to share as I did.

1
It was the harshness
Of an unstoppable scream
That brought certain dreams
Of what paradise might be
Without such besetting pains.
2
If I could make you
Understand  my reasoning
You might not desert
My life, like love, was never
An adventure we shared.
3
Social media –
I am beginning to know
Is anything but
Socially engaging in
A majority of ways.
4
Let me hide inside
The corner of your sweet smile
And I will know life
Is much better than I thought
When fear was all, I ever got.
5
I remember days,
When the hurt I did not claim
Because of your smile.

Prompt
If you feel inclined, create work sharing a product or service you can recommend without reservation.

Gratitude
I am thankful:
1. Reba called and helped me continue.
2. Laundry.
3. A hot shower.
4. Diet Coke.

2022 Creativity Project – Day 20

Tanka and Regulars

Sometimes the strength flees
Without an explanation
But sweet temper holds
The heart keeps smiling songs bold
As women who men behold.

Prompt
Create work about a condition of the constitution. Bonus if you can bring it off without stating or illustrating what you describe.

3. Washer.
4. Dryer.

You have drifted off
I know not where, but my heart

Delight me, renew my life.

Overcast, like Winter
Days that threaten from cotton
Skies to drop blankets
Of freezing sleet, snow, and ice,
My life withers without you.

I write love poems only because I know love due to experience. The fruitlessness of current days makes me fear I am lost with no way.
