Adapted

A little down now
But I am not so put out
That I cannot see,
The Master of all days is
Working the hours for me.
I shall find it well
When this time is gone and past
He held me, oh fast,
Never letting go though I
May have thought myself alone.
In even the times
Sorrow, fear brought me to tears
God kept the hazards
From mounting in my pathway
Because He evermore loves me.
There is no one like
The Lord Jesus, who died for me
For Him I live, love,
In His mercy, grace abide
Me – His, He – mine, through all time.

Direct…

We are apt to die
Any way, any day, and
Our lives are fragile,
Blessings of mortality;
But we are also precious.
We love each other,
We sacrifice for causes
Or to help live love,
We cry, scream, hope, believe, dream,
And make things happen for good.
We are disposable,
Replaceable to some, but
If we take time, care,
We find everyone is rare;
Such that duplicates never exist.
For a task someone
May take another’s place, but
No one can be who
You are, with individual features,
Gifts, feelings, experience, love,
Dreams, passions, hopes, desires,
Creativity, expressions, modes of
Being in space and through time.
You are a Gift, a Priceless Treasure
Direct from the Heart of the Creator.

Forms in Expression

Those of you who knew I was following prompts earlier this month may wonder what happened. Often I try to pursue things, and my creativity goes, “Aw Nah, this is not doable. Pick another design.” So I am set back on my own devices. My originality does not like to conform. So, there you go if you had a thought about it.

Today, I have little short forms.

1.
What tomorrow holds
Today can only guess, not know,
Each moment bestows
Its own opportunity
For those who choose to grasp it.

2.
Love may strike and steal
Hearts captured in a net of
Passion and desire.

3.
Voices whisper small
Secrets guarded by delight
As love takes today.

4.
Twilight ambles near
Relinquishing the sunlight
As shadows dance, play.

5.
The words unspoken
Almost slip smooth tasty
Off the tongue but
Instead are swallowed burning
Feeding hunger’s inferno.

6.
What we never ask
Always remains a question,
Gifts may fade away.

7.
Life is a palace
Filled with grandeur and delight,
But sometimes it hides
In the tedium of mundanity,
We invest in happiness.

Hold Control

There is no control
I can place to stop feelings,
I feel, when we speak,
What I want is transparent,
Yet it never fades away.
I belay my tongue
Short of saying how I feel,
Not trusting in me
Because the past did not go
According to my best plans.
Still, I harbor hope,
And believe love does exist
Even as I wait.
