Unsurpassed

The feeling
Touched softly
Held lightly
Security,
A comfort
Never fret
Doubt, fear
Let go
Sent far apart
By LOVE
Which will
Not relent
Taking burdens
Curtain rent.

Haiku
1
Maybe tomorrow
The hopes realized, dreams true
My life adores YOU!
2
My songs I give you
For all, I owe to your LOVE
Jesus Christ, my Lord.

Counted Syllabics
1.
Sleep an absolute
Need to live, survive, and thrive,
Elusive indeed.
2.
Rent a what? Human,
Surely not, but is that what
By the hour, implies?
3.
Reading you and me
The sophisticated one
Graduated tops.
4.
I am awash in
An explosion of these tasks,
Before completion
Numbers seem to propagate,
Sunset calls; owls, “Whoo,” eerie.

Today was long. I will leave you with this prompt.

If you recognize set limitations, can you be happy within the boundaries? Create your explanation.

Climate Change

The mountain still stands
Though we walk all around it
Sometimes climb over,
The trees wag their heads at us
Whispering, “We will be here –
Only rocks will last
Until future forgets past;
Your bones richen the grass.
We will rustle your verses,
The sun touching the sea will
Sing with a magnificence new –
Oceans will come and go
But the likes of your being
Will again, never, be known.”

Whom To Blame

If all the devices
Stopped working would we rush
Out the carpet
Of our conviviality and be
With ourselves together,
Or is it too late?
Could we thrive without
Those trappings of our consolation
That we believe in
With very little consternation –
Stores with closed doors
Vehicles dead on highways
In a feverish frying heat,
Planes, ah, what planes,
Would we know what to do –
Could we survive
When we are forced
To love one another
More than a phantom image
Appearing on a screen?
Whom do we blame for neglecting
What is no longer as dear to us?
We swallowed the pacts whole
Giving up creative control
Losing parts of  our bold
Personalities which heretofore
Were essential to our lives.
Could we find conversation
Without  reservation,
One hopes so
It could mean the survival
Of our civilization.

HAVE FUN

He says it often
When I go to his office
“Have fun,” no reply –
I choke back derision, tears,
Another lifetime maybe;
Someone, not myself,
Loneliness consumes my  hope
Popcorn kernels devoured
By shadows made shades of days
Spent uselessly trying to find
A moment shaped like escape.

Happiness I have held
Newborn in my hands, nursed
It, gave it the best of me;
Now, it riddles off deficiencies
Destroying the myth of my success,
Once counted against hurts flung
Like arrows before and become
My brokenness, where I dwell
A crab hidden in a brittle shell
With crumbly walls and places
Where the water gets in, annoying,
Terrifying as the passage, days.

Sleepless with suffering, pain,
Exhaustion tears leisure
Fun away, running me to circles
Deep purple, blue-black under eyes
Which watched cherished dreams
Disperse with those vowed forever.
“Have Fun!”
Dare I try?
Will time perhaps give me this
Yet more, the joy of Love redeemed;
I guess it might be like tomorrow,
Known, but not presently seen,
A work in progress, to be inspired,
A vision unrequited, still afire,
A belief that is never let die.

Moonlight Symphony – © Jo Ann J. A. Jordan

Moonlight Symphony

Can you feel the kiss
Of the light upon your face,
The breezy caress
Coming to you from deep space,
Love for you in every trace?
Are you open to
Songs finding their way to you,
Whispering your name?
So many gifts time brings, romance,
Love chooses heartstrings to woo.
How precious are you
The moon in a sky, you light –
Illuminating
Night, dance around and around
A delightful perfection of sound.
Always cherished
A moonlight symphony in motion
Eliciting continual devotion –
Love lifting high, bringing round,
A partner in you now found.

PROMPT
It is time, you know, time for the love creations. Even if you are not a poet, you might give it a whirl for your best guy or girl. If you lack romance, write as if you caught a glance.

Gratitude List
