Living the Dream

This is the caption on my shirt, and I thought, where can I go with that?

When the everything
You are doing
Is the everything
You really want,
You have achieved
The somewhat everyone
Chases after in their
Overdo, over sex, over sought.

When the bustle outside
Is managed and the harried
Does not follow you in
You order your existence,
You ration yourself zen
Doing who you are
Being always honest, faithful,
Knowing you are, and ever you.

Money cannot buy joy
But the toys can give a rush
The secret is to relish
Each day our Lord has wrought,
Counting up all blessings
Learning what you can along
Any given pathway
Being grateful, wearing smiles,
Slipping into the future
With hope bought other days,
Living the dream.

Object – Found

I had to take it down,
Had to take it apart,
To see the depths inside
Learning about my heart,
What it is I want
Who I am willing to be,
To discover all myself;
Becoming fully me.

Even though I feel
So much love inside
Sometimes I live in fear,
Feeling I must hide,
Uncertain who I am
Can ever make the grade,
Knowing all inside me
May inappropriate be.

Should you choose
To spend time with me
Perhaps we shall find
There is more than reflects,
A purpose that connects
Love running through
Time somewhere proposed,
A truth of me and you.

I would keep this muse were I able. I, however, know muses are fickle.

No Teenage Love Affair

I have no idea
What we were thinking, to touch,
Yeah, we know too much,
There has been long aloneness
Years so many, tears like floods.
We stand before one another
Souls bare, connected somehow,
No secrets we fear to share,
Gently touching, sudden reach
Coming undone altogether.
Building fires passion feeds
Longing, wanting, needing, hope
Escalating into a future
Unimagined, never dreamed,
Could it be, could it possibly?
Hearts stutter, bodies quake,
Here together, be no mistake.

Be-Believe

It is open to you
If you will venture to come
Through the unlocked door,
Maybe you are the dear one
For whom my heart is waiting.

The years have been long,
Time often passes fast then slow
Loneliness haunts life,
I reach but never believe
Another belongs with me.

Still when you come near
Hope revives beyond all doubt,
I want to be yours
If you could somehow be mine
And I would stay at your side.

Is there enough love
Within your heart to choose me,
Or is my thought only
A wishful dream without hope
Inside this reality?

I rarely do this, but this poem was not written today, it was written in the early AM on Wednesday.

I encourage you today to take a walk through your imagination and look at your life, paying particular attention to the positive things, and fall in love with your being. We are so fortunate in life and should take time to enjoy who we have become.

Sitting on the sidelines
Worried we are not enough
Scared to walk into the fire
But the promise keeps calling,
A whisper of day-stirring hope.

The wind through the grass
Carves an absolute path we know,
We believe Love wants us
To have wishes, dreams, come true,
Because God treasures us.

His cry, do not doubt, never fear
For precious beloved, I Am near
Lay depression, despair, destruction
Aside and stand in My Light,
None are rejected or forsaken.

Walk forward, head held high;
Christ is with us in every way.
