Essential Pieces Missing

Days exist
Waking comes
All too early
For who I am
Yet too late
For others gone;
Those who
Different lives
Lived than mine.
Each liked/loved
Me best they could
Until finding themselves
Leaving my neighborhood
For either ill or good;
Playing roles next to me
I understand never
Easy nor predictable.

Deserted, I try
To release, find freedom
From the desire to
Recall them, keep
Forgiveness always
Part of heartfelt gratitude
For sharing with me
Whatever they were able,
Still at moments
I feel like a puzzle,
Pieces missing
Never finding
Requirements
To finish, or becoming
Finally whole.

Life, too precious
To forfeit myself,
Giving up potential;
Christ owns me
Heart and soul
Even with essential
Missing pieces,
I remember the world
Needs love –
My capacity to give
Only grows unconstrained
By pieces and parts past
Relinquished to allow
Embrace of such present,
Consigning me to
Creativity’s beauties
In outstanding days
Filled with greater love
Through God’s grace.

Shuffling

Who am I? No one,
A dreamer with unfulfilled
Dreams, bursting the seams.

Tears threaten to throw,
All the plans, carefully made,
Into fading shade.

Capricious Elocution

I think I write
But sometimes it seems
The words write me,
Searching out my heart, soul,
Tearing me to shreds, making whole.
Words are precious existence,
Love distilled for meaning –
Making clear the gleaning
Of was, is, will be
In almost captured dreams;
Streams laden with hope –
Wild flames catching time
Setting sentences to rhyme,
Only tell, what is the line,
Am I it, or is it mine?

Looking at how writing works, I often find that it is a mystery no matter how I study. I thought one day I would understand, but I suppose the state is unmeant for me.

The truth is I cannot put it aside even when I am confused by the gift. Writing is heart, soul, consolation for the pains and troubles. Forever Friend!

Haiku – Five

I.
The sun rises warm
As the tenderest embrace,
Lighting love shared sweet.

II.
Swift flows the current
Of true love’s passion unleashed,
Crows waiting on wire.

III.
The book, when borrowed,
Does not have fullest effect,
Mountains soar abroad.

IV.
What is seen is not
The most of all, everything,
Oceans fully course.

V.
Waves sweep over sand
Wearing away hardest rock,
Singing never stops.

Set List

The first kiss is a high note
Set wild free without a score;
The wonder, will it lead
To more?

Losing the icing, romance,
Makes havoc of the dance
Which might have last forever,
Recovered never.

Years stretch, a desert highway,
Alone, tuneless, stranded to stay,
But living rapt with delicious dreams –
Love seems.

Somewhere in the moonless darkness
Comes hand holding hand – happiness,
A kiss unfurling ribbons, magic
Perfect pick.

Make it all delightful song, played long
On strings tuned always to belong
In hearts recalling empty years
Banishing fears.

Life is love; love is all
Sharing the self becomes a fall
Opening being, answering the call –
Giving all.

Keeping a love long alive
Bestows health, hearts survive
The harmony, a kiss, not to be missed
Creating bliss.

Abandon the score
There is more,
Open every possibility, door,
Love evermore!
