Curiosities

At times we are gardens
Lush with growth, sweet in aroma,
Left untended ourselves alone
Wild as nighttime, bright as day,
Hoping for cultivation under skilled hands.
At times we are roses
Growing scarlet, crimson, upon our bush
Bleeding on the breeze, a scent,
That calls loving embrace to mind
Becoming wholly pleasures given ample time.
At times we are treasured memories
Fair hauntings in the gardeners’ thoughts
Calling from peaceful respite those
Who to our needs shall eager minister
That our joys, lives may continue without end.
Gardens, roses, memories,
So easily forgotten, neglected, set aside,
But time bears us all, every single one,
Carries hopes, dreams, fulfillment,
Crossing plentiful paths for realization.

Tread Delightly

Dancing on the wings
Of morning light, I see night
Take flight, hard away,
So that color floods my sight
With clearest vision, delight.
Touching me, my heart,
Sweet as love, peace now impart
Applying a start
That gives hopes and dreams a part
To play in every dear art.
The one becoming
Oncoming at a quick run
Found in time of fun
Calls laughter forth in the sun
Overcoming, now begun.
Not of any past
But in the present at last
No clouds overcast
Wild creative on a mission
To positivity amass.

My New Normal

I cannot really say a lot, but I will say things have changed and I believe for the better. I have a computer that works so well I can do creative work I have only dreamed of before. I have been to Wal-Mart, where I had quit going because I was afraid; a few times. Today, I was given a gift, picture below. I went to MicroCenter and got a new holster for my phone because mine was three years old and worn out.

Someone cares enough to talk to me regularly, I get hugs, and I do not know, we shall see.

Inquiry Into Idiosyncrasy

Sometimes I wonder
Being a curious sort,
Do we know people
Or do we know them only
As we imagine they are?

The explanation
Of how we wrap others up
In our thoughts, hopes, dreams,
May explain relationships
Being awkward to maintain.

When the hologram
Stored with mental notes in mind
Is inaccurate
Compared to the true person
Acting out in present time –

Worlds begin to clash
Configurations may crash,
Curtains pull away
We are all left gaping on
The bare stage; reality.

Perhaps endeavor
To better acquaint ourselves
With who we may be;
Encourage others to see
Us in actuality.

As a prompt, can you relate something out of the future or fiction to some mundane question and create a work that embodies it? There, you have your assignment, go multiply your thoughts, and enhance your talents.

Target 2001

I found my new journal. It was a Back to School find at Target in 2001. Hint, hint, I got out of school in 1981. Back to School sales rock stationery, though. Yes, 2001 was years ago, I do not know what to tell you about that. This notebook has corduroy covers. The pages leave something to be desired, but hey, paper is paper. Black lines seem unique. The covers are red, which is my favorite color.

Now you know more than you asked about my new journal. Do you journal? If not, have you considered the benefits of journals when dealing with difficult issues? Do you have a significant life event that journals would give a record of for the future? I find my journal permits me to create when I might not usually. I can come to the journal page as I am, show up, and make something.

Try it; you might find a new way of accessing your creativity.
