Inquiry Into Idiosyncrasy

Sometimes I wonder
Being a curious sort,
Do we know people
Or do we know them only
As we imagine they are?

The explanation
Of how we wrap others up
In our thoughts, hopes, dreams,
May explain relationships
Being awkward to maintain.

When the hologram
Stored with mental notes in mind
Is inaccurate
Compared to the true person
Acting out in present time –

Worlds begin to clash
Configurations may crash,
Curtains pull away
We are all left gaping on
The bare stage; reality.

Perhaps endeavor
To better acquaint ourselves
With who we may be;
Encourage others to see
Us in actuality.

As a prompt, can you relate something out of the future or fiction to some mundane question and create a work that embodies it? There, you have your assignment, go multiply your thoughts, and enhance your talents.

How It Goes

We gave no others
Those things we found alone,
We shared together
Otherwise, outside space, time,
Our reasons belonged to us.

In lonely hours
We scored companionship through
Impulses on screen
Then called feelings provoked
Newly forged reality.

When corporeal
Life faded early adopters
On the cutting edge
Became those most easily
Able to adjust and thrive.

Creativity
Became the measure of
The pandemic age
Love at a distance rewarded
Those who could communicate
Fluidly in all states whether
Screen distant or face to face.

My computer has a completely new attitude and works like a dream, thanks to my guru. I hope all of you are doing well.

As a prompt, think about the changes in your life recently, create something that embodies what you are going through. Alternately, create something about how you hope things will be in the future.

If you like what you are seeing, please follow the site or come back soon.

Blessings.

Short Musings

Conversation is
A lifeboat holding us safe
When storms run rampant.
·
It is not who we
Are, it is what we can share
That is meaningful.
.

Unsettling

Too much, all too soon,
Yet, just exactly what is
Needed, less than is
Properly wanted to fill
A heart, broken and remade.

Giving the last ounce
Then finding the well still full
Love overflowing goes
But answers are ungiven,
Wonders often blissful grow.

Power unsettles
The expectation of who
We may finally
Become when embraced, taken
Near the heart’s loving center.

The future, forward
Like a hidden legacy,
Wrapping lives into
Togetherness unforeseen,
Unsettling obstinacy.

An unselfish gift
Still returns, rebounds, resounds
To bring happiness
Which fills deserted spaces
Uplifts reality.

In the middle of
A life fully out of sync
Creativity
With its sweet gift of loving
May make the movements complete.

Too much, all too soon,
Yet, just exactly what is
Needed, less than is
Probably wanted to fill
A heart, broken, then recast.

The Wednesday Prompt 521 at Poetic Asides, I think, the website is redone, is an “Unsettled” poem. This poem is a series of Tanka joined.

Today has been a nerve-wracking day because someone got into my bank account. I decided I did not wish to do that unsettled. When your life depends on numbers when someone messes with it, it is spooky.

I hope you enjoy my little poem. If you like what you find here, look around a bit, and if you choose, follow the site, or return when you may.

Instance

Years alone, alive,
Love kept, embers flame, survive,
For someone needs gifts
Stored waiting heart, soul, spirit
Within never give up, thrive,
Survive.
When truth becomes known
Deep feelings unbound, uphold
Life continues on
Survive,
Sharing, caring, giving, be –
Becoming love over again,
Growing into whoever
Must needs exist to protect
Life in love that we survive.
