Let’s Roll

Falling, falling apart all around you;
Knowing I am not, but hoping I might –
Could I be a shining light
Into the pain, hurt, darkness you fight?

I have none of the answers,
Only the hope, love I spend
Pouring like September rain
Touches you, brings smiles again.

We have walked enough alone
Just pick up the phone;
Call, and I will surely come,
Like a rolling thunderstorm.

I strum this keyboard like
It was an instrument which might
Bring some endless delight,
I find it consolation again tonight.

I have lived life in words
So long, can we parse phrases,
Open our hearts in phases
Until we build a refuge, extraordinary.

I believe the impossible
Is a reach we can make, barriers break,
Construct a place for us both
If you let down the fences tough.

Falling, falling apart all around you;
Knowing I am not, but hoping I might –
Could I be a shining light
Into the pain, hurt, darkness you fight?

Love Being

Ladies, gentlemen,
Others whoever you are,
I want to make clear
The fact you are beautiful
Just as you are no matter
What you accomplish, how
You survive in this present,
You are much more than enough.
Do not harm yourself with deep
Negativity, dear one;
Precious being of love.

I had this come up on my Facebook memories and thought it a worthy thing to share. I hope each of you knows you are the best who you are, and you are growing into who you will become.

Every day, every year, we are making progress toward who our purpose leads us to be.

Take care of yourself because you are a being the world needs; you have so much love and goodness to share. Never sell yourself short. Build on your strengths, talents, pleasures; you have such creativity. I see all of us reaching new highs, better growth. The opportunity is endless.

Keeping an Edge

I think I might – can –
Beat back this creeping coldness
That wraps like water
Around the heart, soul, of me,
Freezing lifeforce inside cubes.

I have every word
I have come to know, befriend,
A useful well filled
With love, faith, wisdom, magic,
Enough to warm my being.

I will not silent
Give my peace over to be
Sent into empty
Where no work ever becomes;
For there remain words, in me.

Still

Want some inspiration? Cue up the Eric Church. Brilliant man.

Yeah, I know you did not come for me to toot my playlist, but sometimes, what I am immersed in breaks loose like the Autumn leaves, scarlet and gold, fluttering to cover the ground.

I have some challenges ahead, spare a thought or prayer for me if you care to. While you are in that attitude say a kind word for this world of ours. Things are rough and tough all over and many could use a hand up to help get by.

It is often I
Find hot tears flooding these eyes,
For things beyond me.

Bless you all, always. Hold on, stay free.

Going Overboard?

We have to ask ourselves, are we piloting our ship, or have we gone overboard?

In times like these, many find it hard to keep control. It can be a harrowing struggle. Bad news, financial setbacks, difficulty at home – in family and relationships, abridged social engagement, hassles at work – or lack thereof, all these and more can make a person consider going over the brink.

From whatever position is now maintained, be encouraged to take a firmer grip on the wheel. If we surrender our ship, leaving it vacant, powers we prefer to avoid might invade our space. It might become difficult, or even impossible, to return to our place.

In challenging times it bodes well to remember:

We are strong. Up until now, we have survived. Survival is an outstanding accomplishment because staying alive is hard. Many fail.

If we examine our lives, we will see we succeeded most of the time. When we made mistakes or failed, we made corrections and went on to accomplish our aims.

There is a temptation when we make mistakes, fail, fall short of expectations to abandon the endeavor. Our true selves lose honor in quitting. We should look for a better path, another way, and finish what we set out to do.

We are not alone on our journey. Other persons, creatures, things, imagination, and creativity can aid us as we go. God grants us abilities, blessings, energy, gifts, talents, which allow us to achieve our purpose. Our lives are not accidental; we are part of the Master’s plan.

If we feel alone and ready to desert our vessel, we should contemplate the many blessings in our lives; we will understand that so much given us would not be, if we were unworthy of God’s anointing and favor.

We sail our vessels with faith, hope, and love. Storms will come with lightning and thunder, but we, every one of us, are capable. We can continue and reach our destination. We can share our love and do much good along the way. Every moment, every day, is a test, and we need to get out of our way and lead as the strong warriors we are. The ships launched, we must be the captains we deserve.
