Simply Math

The sum comes after
An equation of tears, laughter
Brought to life despite
Ravenous shadows swallowing light
Where theorems invade aimless days
Unknowing destinations carried ways
Changes tempting, taking, come
Lead adding, subtracting, become
Total in language, lines, words
Creating was, is, shall be – LOVE, worlds.

The sum remembered
Passion igniting embers, love rendered
Beyond precious, incalculable treasure
Living plus/minus time, decanting pleasure
Hearts collect hearts with compelling voices
Of complex completions, inevitable choices
Each life, every: when, where, why, how,
Compiling decorated dreams now, somehow,
Reaching beyond obscuring variables
Roaring lion-like – truths invaluable.

Steps appropriate, each solution, not mistaken
Life enlightens with overwhelming LOVE, unshaken.

Prompt: Think of a subject’s or occupational jargon and let it influence your work in some way.

Launch

Trust is a type of mystery
Difficult to find within a destiny,
But sometimes two hands touch
Hesitant hearts discover so much
Bringing to bear the yielding present
Seeming almost a dream, heaven-sent.
When tears fall like a symphony
Remember, love often comes fast and free
All searches lead to a swift conclusion
Dispelling every confusing illusion
When pathways lead side by side
Different worlds share an atmosphere, combine.
Lives come fully aware, completely alive,
Willingly life becomes a sweet ride;
Never give up hope for a forever love
Even while stranded, desperate, forlorn, alone
The blessing unseen awaits the time
When passion launches action prime.

A prompt, find something with meaning and lead others to it through your creation.

Youth Reach

The children, simple,
Underfoot teaching lessons
Of brave innocence;
Love their flashing sword, bright shield,
Determination – armor.
The children bestow
Gifts wherever they go,
Fond smiles bubble up
Filling hearts like coffee cups,
Bringing laughter to sad eyes.
The children desire
Understanding of all things,
Learning from old souls
Every blessing and conflict,
Each harsh word and compliment.
The children reveal
Past secrets, future dreams, things
Unknown and unseen,
They dabble – eternally
Calling out for kindness, care.
The children face time
With a will toward conquering
Those troubles they must –
Choosing courage enough to
Produce the needs, become who
The children can be
When raised with sensitivity,
Shining in history
Free to grow because there
Are miles to go, LOVE to show.

Again Then

Time does not come
Tied-up
In pretty ribbons
Red and Blue,
More evidently
Purple –
Green of a stubborn
Bruise,
An ebony night, or
Sun bright raging
Thirsty day
When
That is, the harrowing
Cold is
Out of season.

Prizes
Are rare and never
Given for participation,
No,
Those gains only come
With blood, sweat, pain –
Paid
Perhaps by generations
Who strive to keep
Love, faith, effort alive;
Tears,
Prayers over many years
Are not just present,
The future
Is also their target;

Entreating God
His mercy, grace to
Unleash
That survivors remain
Christ’s love to proclaim –
Overcoming
Overwhelming dangers, trials,
Through the continual
Outworking of individual salvation.
