What is harder than diamonds,
But fuels like coal?
The blatant disregard
We have for the dear things
Held sacred within people’s souls.
Often, we, unknowing
As a freshly diapered babe
Are only in ourselves given to see
What shines, brilliantly bright,
Though around us circle
Unnumbered universes of light –
Revealed in eyes that announce
Narratives of creation, creativity,
Inspiration, independently sourced.
We unthinkingly rush
In
Abhorrent uniform to wreak
Havoc with demands to conform –
The mountains, oceans, sky,
Beg, please have mercy on
Everyone, see, hear, know
All are brief and majestic,
Passing flowers of eternity.
We never exist alone, galaxies,
Civilizations, populations
Are inherently our home.
No strangeness is too strange,
For love survives all vexation,
Bringing reflections of potentiality.
Remember everything, every –
One of us is striving to graduate
To higher realms of becoming,
Being, meaning, which cannot
Block out or isolate the present.

Life – Window Panes

The grass, sky, trees are
Without us freely growing,
Notice we rarely give to
What they might require,
They are and will always be.
What about creatures such as
Are we? Constantly complicating
Everything we are becoming
And who we were before;
Wanting, needing, asking more.

Dogs know life, it loves them,
Such diversity, specialization,
A wolf in all the lines, blood,
Hunger, thirst, making puppies,
Eliminating, sleeping to while away
Moments remembering tomorrow
With bright eyes, attentive ears, floppy,
Wagging tails, living life, dogs prevail.

Here we doubt all there is, even
What is not, we place puzzles to
Cause confusion, misinterpreting
The illusions we support as fact;
Looking forward, facing focused back.
No one knows because the power –
Within us is scaled down, rerouted,
To that which we cannot comprehend
Not visible, beyond the touch of hands.
Ideas espoused, but unreflected in
The materials arrayed before us;
The grass, sky, trees – integrity, love, life.

Purposefully

Where the dream falls apart
And our pieces are gathered
Though there be stormy weather
One finds what is hidden – matters –
In the days, events, times given,
A beauty of souls, phenomenal part.
Here to premiere such talent,
Extremely important, past, now,
The time we are sore prepared to welcome
But must live, learning to steer the craft,
Leaning so the raft not capsize
Plunging us to be molested by the waves
Uncaring influence, with due diligence
We enter the depths altogether surrounded.
There exists no up, no down, and prayer,
We cry, hoping we find grace in
A timely, beneficial reply – though –
In a heartache, we wonder if in wandering,
We each turned too far aside, too insensitive,
For the Lord in His mercy to arrive,
Make His presence known for one,
Alone, if it matters, this life to abide.
How we must each together
Summon the gumption to recall –
One is never only, all creation,
Every population supports who
We trust ourselves to be,
We must learn the lesson, LOVE,
Is greater than individuality –
The Fruit of God – purposefully.

Interval

We sit a space apart,
My attention on our hearts,
Do you feel the beat?
The substance clear – all the heat –
Rising like spiraling sparks above us.
No more precautions, exemptions,
Drawing closer until we
Have optimum touch,
Inhibitions dispensed to
Join LOVE becoming more real.
All awakened by hands –
Busying with bodies, complete
In one another founded
Such passion, a volcano –
Us – exploring exploding.
We, a cacophony,
Destroying rigid borders
A roaring tempestuous inferno
Invested, withdrawing, created
To distribute multitudinous happiness.
LOVE blazes, flames rising higher
Depositing blessing in the wake,
Engrossing desire, passion, and LOVE.

Confrontation

Most times, I avoid
Saying no, telling others
I am unhappy,
I stand by reflectively
Keeping discomfort hidden.
When I must speak out
My emotions take control,
Volume escalates
I am loud and shake because
I do not like to cause pain.
Mainly I suffer
When I am strong, I belong
To take care of those
Who call upon me in need
Even when it is wrong for me.

This is one of my struggles. I think life taught me and I am trying to learn better.
