Never explored before we
Meet ourselves maybe
In a freedom prior unknown
Understanding depths unseen.

Sometimes I wonder
Being a curious sort,
Do we know people
Or do we know them only
As we imagine they are?
The explanation
Of how we wrap others up
In our thoughts, hopes, dreams,
May explain relationships
Being awkward to maintain.
When the hologram
Stored with mental notes in mind
Is inaccurate
Compared to the true person
Acting out in present time –
Worlds begin to clash
Configurations may crash,
Curtains pull away
We are all left gaping on
The bare stage; reality.
Perhaps endeavor
To better acquaint ourselves
With who we may be;
Encourage others to see
Us in actuality.

As a prompt, can you relate something out of the future or fiction to some mundane question and create a work that embodies it? There, you have your assignment, go multiply your thoughts, and enhance your talents.
“Why are these people in positions of power?” Asked the gray-suited man with a crew cut, wire-framed glasses that show-cased his aquamarine eyes, and a body so draped that it spoke of frequently missed meals.
“They were elected, then elected again and again,” said the short solid man with shoulder-length locks, deep brown eyes, and a smile sliding into a smirk. His suit was some designer everyone recognized when the name was spoken.
“Well, sir, I would say it is time to dump the yellow bucket before anyone mops and fill a red one with fresh hot water with plenty of suds. The floor our nation rests upon must be pristine if anyone is to accomplish things of lasting worth,” the reedy man said decisively.
The fashionable man shook his head, “You know money has the scent of delight even if it is dirty. You try to scour these halls, you best be prepared for a formidable fight.”
“The people who dispatched me believe I have the credentials, experience, fortitude, hardware, and insight to do whatever it takes to make this august institution a better one. I have a history of doing what is necessary to never disappoint anyone’s trust,” light sparkled comet-like off his lenses, “If you intend me trouble, I advise you go back to your swamp. We need no troglodytes around here. The days of parasitic prey upon the public are now coming to an end. I mean to start something so revolutionary there will be talk of the Spirit of Washington rising again.”

I wish I would work with this, because it is a good start. It is doubtful I will though. I like beginnings, I can create them easily. Middles are impossible.

I found my new journal. It was a Back to School find at Target in 2001. Hint, hint, I got out of school in 1981. Back to School sales rock stationery, though. Yes, 2001 was years ago, I do not know what to tell you about that. This notebook has corduroy covers. The pages leave something to be desired, but hey, paper is paper. Black lines seem unique. The covers are red, which is my favorite color.
Now you know more than you asked about my new journal. Do you journal? If not, have you considered the benefits of journals when dealing with difficult issues? Do you have a significant life event that journals would give a record of for the future? I find my journal permits me to create when I might not usually. I can come to the journal page as I am, show up, and make something.
Try it; you might find a new way of accessing your creativity.

Well, as usual, Mr. Squier proved a tremendous inspiration. There is one mistake in this I did not catch before I put it on the glass. I can live with a little imperfection when I have been reading loads of it in eBooks lately. I am generally good at catching my faults and heavily berating myself over them. Yeah, gotta LET IT GO!
I told you all I had four pages left in the journal, well, it is now full. I have to find a new companion to see me through the Summer. Not sure about that thing at all. Choices, choices, ain’t that the burn of change? The dog will bite if you don’t put him right in his place. Color, plain, patterned, thick, thin, wired, bound, cheap paper, something with tooth, dot, lined, blank, leather, paperboard, wood – see, you know I have to think this over. It is much more a thing because I take my journal everywhere I go. I never know when the need to write is going to ambush me. You know I write a little bit, well, LOL!
