Beat It

The group of voices
Saying we are not enough,
It is time, “Beat it!”
Every day we are standing,
Pushing, fighting to survive.
We can never know
All the possibilities
Now achievable,
If doubt is not pushed aside,
“Yeah, get out, beat it, bad vibe.”
We are better than
This fear we cradle close by,
Negativity
Leave us be, “Beat it for good!”
We do not need harm around.
Christ is within us
We are people of His flock,
We overcomers
Have victory through His love,
“Leave us be, just go, beat it.”

A Thing, Well A Few

Prompted Positive Poetry’s Prompt #61 was “Fishnet.” I went off in a strange direction and did some derivations on a photo.

This is not the poem I lost; I liked it better. I am toying with thoughts of which I cannot be the host. Catch release is all the rage to my overactive mind. Not sure I like the electric blue either, but black looked all wrong.

This following is out of the very verbose journaling. Those are two conjoined Tanka.

Machined

This existence is
Riddled with holes, the who, what,
How, why, that I am –
Knowing it is not enough
Normal for others to want.
Me, just wishing to
Belong somewhere with someone,
Who fully loves me
Though I am strange within – out,
Who would reassure my doubts.

I have a free trial of Spotify Premium. I love the Deep Focus channel, the one simply titled, Sleep, and oh, Music for Reading. Of course, The Rolling Stones and Queen get playtime as well.

I wonder if I should catch you up on my reading. I have not done that in a while, and there are some titles you might like.

Bursting Inequalities

We, you and me, everyone, can
Be beyond ourselves meeting
Various people together,
We can learn our reasons why
And all happily get by.
No matter who we are
We, everyone, people, are different
We have challenges, hurts, problems, pain,
So much about us is the same
But from our differences, we can
Teach one another about survival.
Our eyes could widen to see
The hero in every person we meet
For  every boy, girl, man, and woman
Is an example of extraordinary courage,
Strength, punching above their weight to
Overcome life’s adversities, calamities,
No one has it easy or figures it all out;
Others can help us understand,
Maybe we, too, can lend a hand.
It is time we recognized life
Is an uphill battle in an endless war
And we cannot win unless we come
To see we are in it all together
We must choose love in each
Situation and help it grow everywhere
We are placed and chance to further go:
We can solve life in loving those we do
And along the way, come to know.

Deadline Cometh

I tell you whence is this attitude
You see as rude, a toe step, too;
This day not hours, happily to spend
But hurry up, begin, check twice, again,
The piece, the price, the make right, toward end
Must complete, to compete, or will not funding win
For sure, it is known, “Deadline Cometh.”
