Perpetual Conflux

Lightning sweeps across
The palette of storm clouded
Sky, blindingly bright,
Picking a tree on which to
Dividing destructive strike.
At the bottom, torn
From the rich life-giving loam
An olive hued
Shoot arises to climb ably
So lavender blooms lively
In winding waves set
Beauty where death might have been
A stalwart final
Force, but it could not so cleave
Nature from its directive
Nor the love of life
From a continuance which
Inaugurated
In the depths of time, never
Leaves barren what begins primed.

Life Partaken

Willing to admit
Life is difficult, can hurt,
But brave the storm surge,
Even when it is draining
The strength of every muscle.
Stifling those voices
Declaring all effort failure –
Living, judged worthless;
Rejecting embarrassment
When considered mistaken.
Remembering each
Victory and happening
Received cheerfully,
Believing more will occur
To offset the constant pain.
Being a human,
A fight, beginning to end,
Worth every teardrop;
Known as an overcomer
With God battling beside.

Ouvre Vous

On Thanksgiving Day
There is the reminder to
Look around, clearly
See, all the wonders accrued
During times and times again.

When blessing others
Sometimes the blessing returns
More than expected;
But giving, sharing, becomes
A way of being, living.

Every moment is
A gift irreplaceable,
So best spend each in
Gratitude for the graces
Lent, then more carefully spent.

So, as the Season
Ambles in, hearts turn again
To know the Reason,
The Gift for every person,
The Savior, Christ Jesus, King.
