Him & Me

God is…
I wonder who I am
When I am here left
Alone to find my way through
These days where I cannot depend
On anything or anyone as in the past.
God is…
He says He is the Way
He says Jesus died for me
He says He will never leave me
He says no matter, I belong to Him
God says He loves all sinners, even me.
God is…
In Him, my life is found
In Him, grace forever abounds
In Him, there is hope for a future
In Him, there is strength for this day
I exist because the Lord chose to love me.
God is…
There is no mistake
He is the Truth and the Life
He is the reason I still survive
He hides me in Love when I am lost
He brings me safely through unto himself
He is the Resurrection, Proof, and Testimony
He is Eternity, and to Him, I cling in everything.

Lucky?/Unlucky?

Sometimes we believe living
Alone is an unlucky state,
All the hype feeds our conception,
It is accurate for some, at times,
But being alone can give space/time
To discover the self, independent,
Outside the other with only one
To know we are adequate and find
The purpose of who we have become;
Sometimes it takes being by ourselves.
We stare in the mirror and see our
True reflection, not the projection
Filtered through other eyes with
All the bias contained in another
Mind which may be doing calculations
We cannot see in our recasting,
Addition/Subtraction, Multiplication/Division
Are always trickier when someone else
Does the equation, maybe in the work
We miss important steps or carries.
Even if being alone is extremely temporary
It can give us insight that leads us
To be the better persons we wish to be
Giving us desire and passion to
LOVE
Infinitely better than we ever have before.

Tuesday’s prompt for the PAD Challenge on Poetic Asides was Lucky/Unlucky. I got some rocket fuel (Coffee), which I usually avoid, and so I have developed this poem.

Unique Moments

This thing has taught us
There are moments things almost
Seem reasonable,
But no one is yet prepared;
Reality packs a surprise.
Everything devolves, goes
Crazy,
Many lose something basic,
Then there is a rewind
Setting the needle in the groove,
Things appear manageable.
The moment authorities say,
“Shelter in Place,”
The deadly foretaste of contagion
Grows large as the threat of
Nuclear annihilation ever became.
People unprepared to isolate
Accustomed to their busyness,
Business
As was usual
With limited skills for
Self-containment, individual
Entertainment, but learning.
Over time we become at ease
With the quiet, adapting, evolving,
Able to practice talents,
Discover
Gifts previously unknown,
Growing into the persons
This moment of invention
Has allowed us to become.

Yesterday fled before I could get this written down. I was involved in the laundry, which could become a real beast if I am not careful. The PAD Challenge prompt on Poetic Asides was “A Moment.” Robert always says we do not have to adhere to the prompt strictly, so I stepped a bit away.

I suspect everyone is fighting some personal monsters in this pandemic. If you are struggling, I encourage you to lean over your well of creativity and draw some motivation up to carry you forward.

I never thought when I started this 2020 Creativity Project, it might become a life preserver, but little did I know. Working here every day, even when I cannot do it, when I have other things to do, when I feel like nothing matters, when I am nobody, somehow keeps me going. The beauty of recognizing and drawing on art, creativity, imagination is they give us hope, resilience, and strength.

God be with you and bless you magnanimously from the abundance of His LOVE. Continue to shine bright all you glorious ones meaning each of you. If you knew the beauty of who you are, it would overwhelm you. Peace. Stay Whole & Well.

Unexpected Blessing

It has come to this,
Moreso than ever before
Every wake-up, we
Celebrate, because we are
Here, we again SURVIVED!
Our incredible
Year makes hours precious,
Priceless, dear, each moment
A miracle beyond the norm;
No expectation of
Far-reaching futures spooling
Out on Earth endlessly.
Today
Is
Enough
To search out a happiness
Needed in the present course,
We have called
“Cease Fire”
On anything unnecessarily
Negative, anyone abusive,
All government intrusion,
Unprofitable illusions,
Simplicity
Has overcome complications.
Humanity
Is become a Whole World
Pulling together for life,
Standing as ONE,
We are completely inclined
To feeling overwhelming love
For all, there is, and one another,
Working together to save and heal
What we are able, the planet changes
With our consistent hope
And constant prayers,
The Lord hears,
Restores much
And will wipe away
Our tears.

I wrote this in the night-time morning hours of today. Several days ago, the prompt on Prompted Positive Poetry was “Cease Fire.” I think I liberated it a bit, but you may realize I tend to do such.

Life Cycle

As day begins pain
Arising like the sun hours
Ago; now, let go
Find the power to persist,
Suffering, positivity
Do not co-exist,
The will is stronger; survive,
Thrive fully alive.
Be bigger than the challenge
Sink the free-shot, all net, whoosh.
Play like the champion
No one knows in these plain clothes,
Name always unknown.
It is the will which
Drives achievement, victory,
The self knows what must be done
It harbors no moment for defeat
Competition is against no other,
What must happen is proving stronger
Than yesterday’s best effort
Over and again, without pause,
Living to be a better person
Never content to give up
Never willing to contemplate
Quitting, forcing the pain small –
To relent enough to strive,
Finish all that was begun
With a conquering flourish,
One can overcome and grow.

Yesterday’s prompt on Poetic Asides was “cycle.” I am experiencing a bit of difficulty right now and felt I could do no poetry yesterday. The pain is not gone, but I am more forceful than my pain. I have never let it stop me. I wrote this today. Thank God for music. I might not make it without my Inspirations.
