Arisen, Arighted

The heart within me
Beating with the light of love,
Though left all alone,
To face the fear, carry through,
Be much more than I can do.
Holed up, held at bay
Unable to face another day;
Yet, I hide the pain,
Lift myself from covers warm
Heed the day, for I was born
Not to quail in storm
To engage my plight over
Adversity prevail
In terror’s coffin, place nails
Somehow grasp strength, overcome.
In a voice drawn from
Heroes of the distant past
Firmly standing now,
I become a dignified need,
To in this moment, succeed.
Still, the sword maintains
Its vigil over my life
At any time, can
Fall, but I shall have faith, grace
Freely given, shall keep me safe.
The heart within me
Beating with the light of love,
Though left all alone,
To face the fear, carry through,
Be much more than I can do.

Prompt: Personify your feelings in something creative. If you wish, share your product with the world.

I am thankful:
In the darkness of emotion, love breaks through.
Winter is, then Spring.
Freedom still has a hold.
Somehow, I persevere.
Delight forsakes day, parties into the night.

Hey, Hey, GoodBye – Welcome Hello

2020 is almost over. It is a year most of us are glad to transition from into a new year. Many of us have suffered extreme losses. The coronavirus put a pall over much of our normality. Death and loss have become daily companions.

There are reasons to hope that 2021 will bring more healthful and prosperous times. There are vaccines for the virus which will become available for many in the coming months. As there are more travel and commerce, the economy should recover.

As we advance, new and better habits will improve lives. Writing every day gives an outlet for dreams, goals, and practices. Journaling develops voice and facility with language. Creation in the visual arts can teach patience and process.

Calm and quiet help deal with chaos and discomfort. Reading is an excellent learning tool and enjoyable entertainment. Seeing characters deal with adversity can facilitate hope.

On a personal note: I am beginning a new journal and closing the book on 2020. There have been bad and good, but I am spending this evening with Richard, who is very dear. We became close during this year of extremes.

I hope all of you celebrate this thing called life because it, today, are what is given to us. Find someone or something you love and give yourself to it. Being happy is a right, and love is a reason.

Ring out 2020, bring on 2021. May the coming days be a blessing for all of us.

I think I will be carrying on my Creativity Project for another year. Do you have a 365?

Thank you for visiting Haphazard Creative. I hope you will follow or return. If you have comments, encouragement, or inspiration to share, all are welcome.

Aubade

The pleasant Autumn
Is turned to mean exclusions
Of clouded Winter,
Ebon ravens take to air,
Love may languish, vanish there.
Costliest of days
When time slows in dreamless sleep,
Moments like thick soup
Mire us, one – forever – all,
Discordant voices, loud, call.
Faces of comfort
Covered in veils kin to fog,
Starlight gleaming eyes
No longer lit from within,
Payment price for frigid loss.
Relentless saunters
Hope in allure to parade
Reminding one, all,
Better days return, arrive,
Together again arise.

2020 Acrostic

Twas a year to begin again
We were mostly anticipating good,
Encouraged by the placement of
Numbers, excited because of the past,
The Twenties were Roaring before
Yes, everyone had ambitious plans.

There was maybe opposition to
What we hoped, by some-things,
Everything went kaput –
None of us knew a solution,
The hope remained, and we, me and
You made the best of it all.

Everyone keeps trying, helping,
Never giving up – on anyone;
Doting on each victory,
Sending love to win.

We together as a people
Energetic in our determination
Loose power in hope,
Love to mend the planet and us.

As a prompt, pick a name, phrase, verse, whatever you will. Put one letter below the other down your page and write a poem. The form is called an Acrostic. Sometimes I will do them of people’s names. It is unique.

Fragments Amended

I do much of my writing in my journal, and bits and pieces are often orphaned there. There is a lot of writing which never makes it to screen. It is not that it is inferior, just that I cannot put up too many pages.

Please, if you like what I do here, interact in some way. It helps make it more likely others might see the work.

As a prompt, go across your social media and react, engage with some of the creators you like or admire. Even just with your friends. Every like, every comment means a broader audience.

Give me one last kiss,
You will never see me cry,
I will fade away –
Goodbye – you have your life – days
Precious, set apart, without
Room or time for me.
I respect you so much, enough
To go before I am
Become a footnote written
On the pages every day.
I wish you all happiness,
With such love as you crave, deserve,
May you find in another
The heart of all the love you hope.

So much is riding
On strings of words which might not
Be spoken aloud,
Before the night falls alone
Blocking out the fragile hope
Giving a fingerhold, keeping
Love afloat, buoyed by faith.

I try so to entertain, and yet sometimes I feel the investment is futile. The bounty I hope for may never bloom from Winter lying fields at Spring but be forever lost in frost.

Thank you for spending some time here, reading. Please be well and find the way here again.
