Too many bridges into Mountains too far Where dreams may be lost In the climbing over rocks, Boulders that shifting can Send hope hiding under Fear, misery, doubt, despair. Still, the beauty at the summit Makes the trouble on the path Seem insignificant and worthwhile For climbing ever higher is How growth and learning occur.
Moments forever Cradled in your loving arms Finding myself once, Always, when I become lost – In the music of your touch. Where you lead me is Impossible without you Are here, ever near Guiding me an endless tour Covering time, space, every-sphere. We are met and meant A promise set long ago When eternity Cast plans of all futures to Come within hours of being. I may write our rhyme, But you are each word, making All the sentences Together, perfect, meaning, Heartbeat, pulse, breath, giving voice. I could never turn Walk away because you are Written on every Exterior, interior part Who I was, am, will soon be.
As a prompt, what is your dream? The one that keeps you going when the pain is too intense and giving up seems a plausible option. Create something which celebrates that base level of who you are and who you intend to become. If it seems just too hard, do it anyway. You are not here for mediocrity; you are here to fulfill a purpose, a purpose only you can discern.
Sitting beside you, Transfixed by what Is holding you, While my hands stumble Held in check, wanting, But not freely Touching you because Sometimes I can be wild As a tigress hunting, And I will not open up The jungle I contain Exposing you to all That is kept quiet So I can navigate Polite society. Still, I feel it and know, Just a word, a touch, Could crumble all The self I create, Allowing my hunger To become as Feral as a wild cat, Taking you for mine In a moment of time Lost, left unending.
You cried your words, right, Into the heart of my life, soul, Answering was I Bound close as yourself to you I sang beauty in a voice I borrowed – starlight; The wind untamed took captive Every small moment I did not hide in pockets Protected from your unknown. Across many years I chased every pleasure found In other places, But each was lacking something Proven in your words to me. My nebulous thoughts Converge, enfold your body In a field tender As the minute sensation Of love, long-deferred, come due. Myself, my sight, is Frequent as light traveling Across space and time To portray your perfect poise Provided contrasting darkness. I have now become More than distant yesterdays; Music you wrote, soft, Upon the flesh, heart, dancing Beneath your strong, gentle hands.
When we do not belong When our hearts cannot find a song When all the pieces Are out of line, far from place We still occupy optimum space; If we remember If we observe what surrounds us, If we diligently continue We know God is always near, Jesus also suffered while here. We are called upon To be lights, inspiration, To lend beating hearts To the cause of Salvation So all may come to Jesus.
Our battles may be Many and we wish to be free Yet we are fully loved Wholly blessed in every moment By God who fortifies our lives. How we carrty on How we stand firm, dedicated, The Blessed Savior Takes our hearts, sets us apart, A generation in Christ’s hope We become His messengers Carrying God’s miraculous story Into all the stormy places Where He changes people, lives.
