Scoring Ribbons

Pick up a book, read,
Take paper, pen, pencil
See what you can create,
Turn on your favorite song,
Loud, if you like,
Sing along, then play others.

If you have a dog, take a walk,
A cat, see if you can give pets,
A ferret, watch how giddy
It can be when roaming loose.

Spend some time with your clothes,
Mix and match for new combinations,
Nix those that no longer hold a fascination,
Develop fresh cuisine for quarantine
Look up new skills you want
On YouTube and work for proficiency.

Avoid the news when you can
You know it is bad already,
If you must watch television
Go for delights that light your life.

Support your friends on-line
With likes and comments,
Now it is especially vital,
Everyone is working hard
To be positive just as you are
Encouragement helps so much.

Being BLUE does not become us
We are survivors, thriving,
We are love, cheering one another,
We are winners, champions,
Only our ribbons are rainbows
Of smiles forever renewed,
After tearful BLUE showers.

Prompted Positive Poetry’s prompt is “Blue.” Think I may have gotten a bit lost, but I am okay, yeah. LOL!

Something Unexpected

The Dell went crazy and lost its ability to connect again, this device has no IP address, um, no. I fixed it, so now I am updating this. It only took hours.

So I did this awesome thing in my journal and took photos of it with the S8. I hope you will think it is unique. I am replacing the shots with scans, so most of you will never see that mess.

Lilies in Bloom

Those are stargazers from my house in the 90s. Once upon a time, I had a home. I have that file, but the network is in a reset, so maybe the Dell will jump back online. I have now replaced the photo of my print with the original scan file photo. I need my networking guru.

So, there you are. God bless, even if you do not believe in God, He believes in you. Please never feel like I am forcing the issue. We all need to think as we can until it changes. I love you any which way.

Creative Variety

Day Seven – 2020 Creativity Project

Wookie watching Wick

Wookie raptly watching a movie. Edited version.

I have been on the internet since 1991. Creatives are among my favorite people. A baseline normal between creatives, we are all original individuals. Our personalities, gifts, characteristics, styles, spirituality, beliefs, all those, and more make us unusual, and yet we are alike. There is a spark in the room when creatives meet. We chatter, and we immediately find something which we can relate to within one another.

Many of us are introverts, we will find ways to sequester ourselves in privacy. Though we can lay that aside long enough to perform something we believe in. Sometimes, this is almost too hard. What should we write, draw, paint, photograph, what tools use? Is art worthwhile? Is the meaning and connotation of a word correct? Is it perfect, or close enough, no one can see the seams, the erasures? The picture, should it have been edited, or was the original better? Will anyone read, will they care, will someone?

Uncertainty seems to come with the territory, but we can stand loud and proud when we feel we must. Our hearts are open, our minds malleable, our work forever with us. Dreams are waking us to grab tools of record in the dire hours of the night. We study, then find it not enough, and explore more.

When the curtain draws down, we will be begging long enough to get the current work complete. Dame Death can wait…

Maybe I exaggerate, I am a poet who writes stories, essays, and attempts books. I do these Creativity Projects that tax me beyond belief. I believe in making myself work because if I do not commit, I might crawl into a cavern and secret myself away. Figuratively speaking darlings, if I had a cavern, we would have sleepovers on crisp nights.

I did poems today, but I am not satisfied with any of them, then when am I confident of the writing I do? I think it is why I read so much. I can twine my mind in someone else’s creation. Anyway, you are warned.

Down, Upsideways

Touched by the feather
Of a snowy dove named love
My soul reaches up
Toward Heaven way above
Then stretches out and abroad.

I inhale the breeze
Breathing out weighty worry;
Then again process,
Exhaling stores of kindness and joy
Praying health, happiness, prosperity to all.

I hope good fortune
Will find ample opportunity in many lives;
People who shall discover
Grace as comfort always
And fullness of faith as a living fire.

SWAP

Can I be you now?
I know I should not ask,
But you seem self-assured,
Only for today, until
The time day goes undercover
Where we can dream mysteries
We might never encounter if
Our lives did not intersect,
Combine, entwine, meld,
Like no one knows but we
In on the secrets only we two may
Comprehend, understand;
How will our hearts ever beat
Quite the same as prior, after
Sharing who we really are?
Do you realize how precious,
Surpassing grand are the gifts
You within yourself do own?
We might be explorers, ah, home.

Perpetually

Let us live forever
Remembered by generations
Whose opportunity to know
Us is only in the creations
We leave behind in time.
What we share with others
What we release from within,
Those  bits and pieces of thought
Captured in any set form
Can transmit over eras
Perhaps helping someone grow
Into a person better suited
To survive whatever may
Become their experience
In living a maximum life.

I hope you found something of worth, I have not felt like I could do this today. The Quits have set in. You know that saying, “You should not be doing this. It is not any good. Give up.” Yeah, my brain has not yet learned, “Never Give Up!” is stronger. Anyway, thank you for visiting. If you wish there is a follow button, or come back when you like.

All the best to you, and keep reaching for your goals, I believe in you. I thank God this marvelous tool brings us together. I hope I did not go over long today. Sometimes, if you knew, I have lots to share.

Site Blunders, Mistaken Communication

I was checking in on the tablet because I turned the computer off. Scrolling through themes, I found one more attractive to my sensitivities. So, sorry, but we are now revamped. This theme is Publication 2. It has my sidebars and widgets, which were sadly missing in SAGA. I am old school, having blogged since 2005. (See Chronicles should you be interested in that history. It has lots on it.) I like as much detail on pages as artificial intelligence can afford me. I am still not paying for the website, though I did keep my domain. (It will happen, just at the appropriate time.)

School has begun in a lot of places. Those of you with kids, (and our crowd of creatives), I recommend you institute a period of gratitude each day. I find this gives a perspective that sometimes slips into the busy oblivion of day following day. Just have a few minutes to write or simply verbally share some things that went well during your limit of hours.

I am thankful:

  1.  The Wookie (Marbles) did not injure me while we walked. This being an ongoing problem I am praying about, I would much appreciate an improvement.
  2. My stomach seems to be recovering, I, unfortunately, forgot I cannot eat foods with heavy concentrations of MSG. Mongolian Chicken should be prohibited.
  3.  I found a much more appropriate and loveable theme.
  4.  I completed reading Ink and Bone by Lisa Unger. An excellent book with some paranormal emphasis and well-developed characters. Missing it. Somewhat adrift trying to find something new. Oh, it was 5 stars, highly recommend it.
  5.  Music; brings me through the days when I am straying and finding the way hard to navigate. (We Believe – Newsboys) (Time Waits For Noone – Freddie Mercury)             (Anything by the most esteemed Dr. Brian May) (Gangsters Are Running the World – Roger Taylor) ( Hide Away – What can I say, Mick Jagger)

If you can, pull your youngsters (and yourselves) away from screens long enough to do a minimum of ten minutes of creative work, whether art, writing, photography or whatever the penchant. These things will enrich your days and add joy to your lives.

I know many of you are more successful social media mavens than I am. Should you feel inclined and you find my communications of efficacy, please share as you may. I thank you for visiting Haphazard Creative today. I hope you will explore and wander about a bit. There is a follow button, or you may simply return as appeals to you. I think my links are now available again without having to search as much.

As a prompt, if you have a blog or site, which you have not refreshed in some time. Consider what a change might do. I know it takes some investment of time and effort, but the payoffs are sometimes higher than we expect.

Had to share the Tribble, just for the cuteness factor. My buddy.

Love, it may come late, but when it shows up, the world rocks…

Hands touching across
A divide longstanding wide,
Could grow side by side.

Recalibration

PSX_20190731_011339.jpg

I did not set out to write a poem, as I almost always start with a title. The poem found me and captivated my hand. I think there are times when all of us doubt ourselves and doubt the lives we live. I want you to know everything is in place for a reason, and you are strong enough to get through whatever comes.

I encountered some frustration in the evening that definitely caused undue stress. I decided to change my reading material up, then found the apps for what I wanted would not work on my devices. It became clear that I was going to need an alternative. Though I never used it as a tablet before, I have a tablet PC. I used Chrome to pull up the publication sites I wanted and read them that way, so I could walk while reading. As a tablet that Dell will give an arm a workout, but reading on it cheered me up. I had solved an issue and overcome.

It may sound minor, but sometimes the little things can change the direction of your hours. Even when you accomplish just a step in the right direction, give yourself credit. It can help move your mood into positivity, and there is enough negativity without us adding to our own.

There is wonder in you, there is beauty, glory, strength, possibility, courage, brilliance, talent, goodness, love, honor, joy, ability, gifts, you are you for a reason and a purpose, and you will contribute great things to the world. Small things matter. If one brick is left out of the foundation of a wall, the whole structure is unstable and unreliable, what you do is building something grand, and it is tremendously important.

I feel like I am running on, and I do not wish to bore you, so, as a prompt, create something that expresses affirmations that you can meditate on when you are discouraged.

I appreciate your visit to Haphazard Creative. I hope it has nurtured and inspired you. You may drop down the MENU button to follow, or come back as suits you. I am trying very hard to encourage myself to post here more often and employ my creativity.

Creativity is a quality that grows bolder when more often used. Try it yourself, and you will find it correct. Just do one small thing a day if that is all that you have time or energy for doing. It will help you feel better adjusted to reality and get you out of it for those moments.

I am grateful that I bought the tablet PC and it was available for my time of need. Sometimes we do things without quite knowing why, and things come clear in time. I am so blessed and I bet you are too.

God be with you. Blessings to you and all your kin. Smile, let joy be your aspect even should you not feel it. Smiling will increase the likelihood of you living it.
