Sunday’s Thoughts

© Jo Ann J. A. Jordan

I wrote these with a fountain pen, which is not my best instrument. These are my journal pages. If you read them, you will get insight into where and what my state of mind is.

I would have scanned them into the computer, but my equipment and the program did not cooperate with me. Therefore, I did the phone as I have for the past months.

Showing journal pages is a level of openness I can do, but it is a bit uncomfortable. I have no idea how this audience will react, so it is a gamble.

How revealing can you be? Consider that a prompt.

Blessings, I hope, always find you. Jesus, lend you peace. Live, alive, and Love cause that is why we are here on Earth.

2022 Creativity Project – Day 18

I am a pen collector. I will collect cheap pens; I will gather more expensive ones. I particularly like hand-made ones.

I, when young, initially liked Parker more than Cross. I probably still do.

Writing since I can remember, I always preferred pens to typing.

“A pen doesn’t belong to anybody. It’s a free spirit that stays with one while that person needs it.” – Carlos Ruiz Zafon

Once, I began to believe I would have arrived as a writer when I acquired a Mont Blanc. I think it was around 2000 when Sam’s Club was carrying the elusive pens. I got one. I learned it only meant I had it. My writing was mine, and I was a writer with or without a pen.

Accept Yourself

If you believe you are
Gifted in a particular skill or way
And spend time in doing everyday
Or even now and then, trying
To get better, become your best,
You may do justice to confess
It is your art, your unique gift
Claim it and let it be your talent
And even if you do not by it earn
You can still, with future hope, affirm
It is part of who you claim to be. -JAJAJ

Prompt
Do not doubt your creativity; claim what you are. Express your talent as part of who you are in a definitive work. Please share it with those who may doubt your calling.

I am not a fan of series, but I have been reading authors in translation recently, without meaning to do so, and I found these books.

The Cemetery Of Forgotten Books Series

I highly recommend the whole series. Mr. Zafon uses some of the most beautiful descriptions I have ever encountered in literature. I read quite a lot.

2022 Creativity Project – Day 17

Barricade

I walked straight into
The wall we made, too high, staid,
I could not scale it;
There was no going through it
Passage impossible met.
Times before I knew
Return tickets would bring you
But this time, worry,
My heart bound with ribbons, twine,
Left alone to never shine.
I was always yours,
You were never become mine;
Broken against walls
I could not soon pass through to
Inhabit your life, present.
A dream, so unreal,
Myself tarnished, so you feel,
I say, “It’s alright,”
When I wake trembling at night;
Once, we were the best, so right.

Prompt
Consider something that arouses strong emotion, embody it in your creation.
