There is a pause to
Breathe before hurry begins,
Listen to the wind;
Restless relentless beating
Of a heart, like waves breaking.

A lot has been, but focusing behind can be a liability. This year beckons in a new gown with a bright face, crowned without tarnish. Embracing new endeavors with hope, joy, and wonder can allow opportunity and possibility. Adventure exists; seeking it is the challenge.

This is post one of 365 days. Join me here, at the inception, and we will go wherever the leading takes us.

Gratitude List
I am Thankful:

1. Holidays were spent with family.
2. My son and I remain close.
3. I have friends on whom I can depend for support.
4. I have creative avenues in which to invest.
5. I am still standing, despite it all, still standing. Onward, heed the call.

PROMPT

Survey the past, let anything negative go best you can, or at least for the moment. Imagine what you want the future to be and create from there. Should there be goals you are ready to hold, enumerate those if you wish.

Action

If you have any comments, ideas, or suggestions to share with me, those are greatly appreciated. You may leave them in the comment section. Please be sure to like this post, and if you wish, follow by reader or email; both are available for your convenience. If you rather, find your way back here as you may.

Tanka Triplicate

1.
As moments run down
Falling like foaming water
I become crystal,
Reflecting reasons to be
Light refracted endlessly.

2.
Creativity
Project, shall I once again?
The heart is willing,
The mind less, always objects;
Ability whispers, “Try.”

3.
Lay the burden down,
Fear consuming too much soul,
With Faith become whole,
Trust days will continue by
Storms calm; hope, peace, love abide.

To you readers, would you like to have me post every day in 2022? Would you read it? Would you interact, at least some?

PROMPT

With this year ending soon, write some haiku or tanka on endings and beginnings.

Haiku have three lines of 5-7-5 syllables. Tanka have five lines of 5-7-5-7-7 syllables.

Mosaic

Picking up pieces
Where expectations derailed,
Only hope remains;
Creativity is not
Shattered but might go unclaimed.
Bring ideas forward
Watch growth always more, galore,
Light passion afire
Find missions with joy in store
Enrich lives, opening doors.
Willing hearts ready
To unlock minds diving deep
Words soon learned to speak
Musing over stories, sweet
Setting success to repeat.

Plying Forms

The broken bottle
Lying in an amber spill,
The stools toppled like
Memories of a cherished past;
Who were we, thinking love lasts?

The music was such,
Bright magic in which we could play,
Until we forgot
We were only mortal too,
Disassociating us.

I said, “I love you,”
Because I have, always will.
You answered, “I know,”
And that is the reason, dear,
We were never together.

In the eaves lie leaves
Scattered, plastered like these dreams
Only echoing;
Waste to be driven away
Discarded on barren ground.

Sometimes I write us like a new thing as if we shine diamond bright. In reality, we were the stolen pleasure of a season, a forever consisting of only a few love drunk nights. The dust, rust, tarnish gather as the moments further recede into the emptiness of history.

I have hidden all
There remains of my power
But more battles come;
I will not whimper, beaten,
I shall don my armor, sword.

Walking toward what
Defines this deviant hour,
Ready to exclaim,
“The past fades into distance,
Our present embraces a change.”

Your touch sends ripples,
Sensation through my body,
After so long, much.
