Beginning Maybe

A Design for Me

It is yesterday’s news, but you might read it some distant tomorrow, never knowing the when of it all. It fell apart again, but no one knew the signs; they were too busy in their lives of satisfactory rhyme.

The dregs in the pot that provided the coffee could perhaps illuminate, but by then, it was probably too late. Broken hearts litter the ground where discordant words often find their sound.

A whisper of waking to the morning linen gives hope, but the bed contains only one body, insufficient for an incident of joy.

Tomorrow is the predicate of yesterday, but today wends away. Fortune is no lasting friend but slips off with a passing wind. One seldom remembers but never forgets a love vanishing to purchase what survives beyond regret.

Familiar, those bonds forged over a bundle of years breaking down into stifled tears disallowed to tumble from wary eyes. No one left to ensure feeling together thrives.

Plain Speak?

When one employs verse with its vividities, though it speaks with particular clarity, is it plain? Ah, and is the clarity only a surface seeming with oceans beneath?

These tidbits for your appetite…

The tall tired trees trail
Tails of golden gilded leaves
On chilled coffee morns
While wholesome whimsical loves
Share songs sang subtly soft.

No one told the dove
To cry, nor made her fly by,
But mourning brought her.

Leave your wide window
For the world has more to give
Than vision through glass.

Can we just forget
Such necessities as need
Once made us believe?

If I could, I would
Divorce pain, but it remains,
Losing love leaves stains.

Forbid you might see
The lake of sad darkness here;
Scented roses, Spring.

When I am dead/gone
I shall sleep enough to please
Those I now disturb.
Until then, please allow me;
Simple curiosity.

Exile, I outlaw
You use it, when we belong,
But powerless to curtail
You because of we two there
Is no doubt you are stronger.

I cast a carpet,
Lovely woven silken threads,
Because your comfort
Was my complete intention,
Ordure you wiped upon it.

As a prompt, try some haiku or tanka. They are small forms but can say much and invoke beauty or emotion. Also, both are excellent warm-ups for more strenuous writing.

I hope your week has been comfortable and that life has brought you more pleasantry than pain. Thank you for visiting Haphazard Creative. If you like, follow the site, or come again as time allows. May blessings find you wherever you venture, and you know the love of God with you.

American Pie – Don McLean
Love Kills – Queen
Time Waits For No One – Freddie Mercury

My middle of the night coffee drinking list. Lost the sweatshirt for a tee-shirt with Randy Orton – Apex Predator on it. Coffee, with its caffeine and heat, percolates my blood.

All this because the house is lonely as the stone across the water on Tanyard Creek, Lake Allatoona when I was a mite younger than these days and could ski that inlet all day long.

Of course, earlier, I got the notice there were proofs to do, and I shall be getting to that eventually. Just now, I am thinking it is time for We Believe by Newsboys, which I have been saving until I cooled down from prancing like Rudolph when he discovered he was to lead the sleigh. Did you not know he danced? Bet ya he did, because he was an outcast promoted to the spotlight. Not that anyone would relate to that or anything. Not really.

As a prompt, take a current event weave it with a past event, throw in some tunes and create a work to share. Any medium will do, that is all up to you.

This was to be an update on Facebook, but it morphed into something of a fuller body, so I brought it here. I am quite disillusioned with Facebook just now. There are times I contemplate leaving the whole thing behind awhile, but the time is not yet. It bores me, though, Facebook does.

The picture above was taken at Callaway Gardens. I should go visit again. I adore the place. For once, I would like to go when it is warmer so that the butterflies are more plentiful and active in the Butterfly House.

My Coffee Friends

My mom and I collected mugs for a while. She bought a lot more of them than I did because me being on Disability, the money did not go too far., I have some on my bookshelves and around.

There were some she had decorating the kitchen on hooks. When Alex came home, he kept breaking them, so I took some down.

This one I used last night was hers. I think I am amping up to do it again.

Sleep, who needs it?

Sometimes I dream of opening up a shop where coffee is served in mom’s mugs, and I pick a book after talking for a few minutes with the customer. If they sit down and decide, they want one or both the things I chose; I sell them. Otherwise, they return them, and all they are out is the cost of a coffee and maybe a pastry.

My son says it could work, but I have no money for space. I think, since I have been told, I can see into a person’s soul that I would be oftener right than mistaken.

Know anybody who would invest in such an idea? Yeah, me neither.
