Hey, Hey, GoodBye – Welcome Hello

2020 is almost over. It is a year most of us are glad to transition from into a new year. Many of us have suffered extreme losses. The coronavirus put a pall over much of our normality. Death and loss have become daily companions.

There are reasons to hope that 2021 will bring more healthful and prosperous times. There are vaccines for the virus which will become available for many in the coming months. As there are more travel and commerce, the economy should recover.

As we advance, new and better habits will improve lives. Writing every day gives an outlet for dreams, goals, and practices. Journaling develops voice and facility with language. Creation in the visual arts can teach patience and process.

Calm and quiet help deal with chaos and discomfort. Reading is an excellent learning tool and enjoyable entertainment. Seeing characters deal with adversity can facilitate hope.

On a personal note: I am beginning a new journal and closing the book on 2020. There have been bad and good, but I am spending this evening with Richard, who is very dear. We became close during this year of extremes.

I hope all of you celebrate this thing called life because it, today, are what is given to us. Find someone or something you love and give yourself to it. Being happy is a right, and love is a reason.

Ring out 2020, bring on 2021. May the coming days be a blessing for all of us.

I think I will be carrying on my Creativity Project for another year. Do you have a 365?

Wistful Attentions

In times like these, a little whimsy is necessary. Although getting this here was quite a trial. HP Scan Smart would not work, even after repeated tries. So, I downloaded something from MS. Voila.

My son, Alex, is with me currently. We are trying to rescue me from the house. I think we made a bit of progress.

I hope you are finding your holiday cheer. Even in Coronavirus times, there is much to appreciate. We are still here, you and I, and life with all its challenges is a marvelous thing.

When we listen to music, read a piquant line, share a hug, say hello, snuggle with a pet, look around and see all the things that enrich our lives, suddenly, we know we have reason to be. Even at a distance, we still have a connection to the lives of all humanity.

Please understand wherever, whoever you are, I wish you the very best that life has to offer. Love surrounds you, and you are marvelous. I will say with confidence; you are a miracle.

I thank you for visiting Haphazard Creative. Should you care to, please follow the site, or try to find your way back often. Any comments are forever welcome.

God Bless You and Yours.

Those are big teeth you have and such a large mouth, my dear Wookie,

The photo I got was not the one I anticipated, but children and dogs tend to make their poses.

Are we not all beset by the desire to change, grow, move? One place is serving us, but it taxes our fortitude as well. Fear falls over us as we confront the unknown, but we must go.

We are the heroes of our stories, and the hero’s tale is a journey. Even when remaining in a particular locale, we journey farther into unknown territory. Age, career, health, home, interests, possessions, pursuits, relationships, and more may be our challenging highways.

Standing still is an impossibility because life will move us, if not immediately, indirectly. We hope that all the knowledge amassed in other times, toils, and trials will equip us for success.

Faith, hope, and love shore us up and allow us to attempt the impossible. The impossible is our goal; it just takes a bit of time.

Trying The Drabble

Time is fundamental. It may be said, “Time governs the world, and especially the fortunes of humankind.”

However, time is a radical thing, capricious and mutable. It might propose futures bright and pleasurable but may deliver obstacles multifariously.

When Allen sat down on the floor of the house he had lived in for three years, he tried to sort out the confusion that plagued him. The moments sped as tears fell. The future, always held within his command, now came undone and became unknown. Depression took a shot at his psyche. Time, he knew, could be made, melded, or overcome.

A drabble is a story of 100 words. The above text is my first try. Generally, my stories are more verbose. Probably, I should take this further, but maybe or not. I have been reading short stories to acquaint myself with the form better.

As a prompt, write a drabble. If you like, toss me a link, and I will check it out.

Thank you for visiting Haphazard Creative, there is a follow button, or I hope you will come read in the future. Comments are always welcome, and participation is a boon.

Cultivating Needs

Come now, please enter
The corridor streaming to
A future unknown
But welcoming, becoming
A notable destination.
Take a step leaving
Fear, mediocrity far
Behind so living
Suddenly transforms into
Lovely creativity.
All guesses, thoughts, knowns
Are but reflections cast on
Screens of dreams that seem
In their happening, transports
To realms hidden beyond mists.
Getting where wishes
Occur in truth that passes
Through hearts of loving,
A discovering of each
Wonder made unmatchable.
Instruments play songs
Of personal power made strong
Enough to alter
The fabric of what is real
Bringing miracles to light.
People are the keys
The beating hearts, searching minds
Manifesting bright
Hopeful marvels beautiful
In happening – to extreme.
