It Is A Historic Time

Some days are a fevered pitch of defeat and glory. Today was one such. I did not want to be alone, and I got my hope. I spent last night and today in my Happy Place with Richard, who challenges me to be more than I think I can be.

We did not miss a thing sitting at the tables, viewing events on a projection screen. Much of the day was moving, and sometimes in contrary ways.

We laughed riotously at unpredictable surprises and were moved deeply by others.

Change is, nothing remains the same. As a people, we must look forward and let the past collect its debts in time as is its due. I am thankful the day did not descend into chaos as was so recently the case.

I had clam chowder for the first time last night and again this evening. As I have mentioned, he cooks for me. I spent some time doing the things I would at home, reading on my tablet, and being a wastrel on my computer. He did some work, and I could distract him if I were near.

So many times, we put our hope in personalities and people. Perhaps we should recognize that over everything is the Lord who holds every destiny. Life is a gift, and we must spend each second carefully.

I have a few goals toward which I am working. I am not calling them resolutions because I expect to work on them as long as I am. One is trying to build a reservoir of self-confidence; this is sorely lacking in me. Richard suggests I do another thing, not worry about what others think about me because it is not my business. The other; just be myself and love as much as I can in any way I can.

My son, Alex, in a picture, taking a picture.

Prompt
On a day like today, we have endings and beginnings; what can you personally undertake to improve your existence? Create something on such a theme.

Gratitude Today
The transition that occurred in our nation today was peaceful.
Richard avoided a disaster.
I proofed a magazine overnight.
Music is such consolation.
I did this even though I would like otherwise.

Keeping, As Might

© Jo Ann J. A. Jordan

Maybe it is such
An easy thing for some, but
For others proves a trial,
Errors
Continue adding up,
Dark clouds fill the horizon.
A refusal to quit
Being, dreaming, hoping,
Unfathomable
As specific thoughts may seem
An allowance meted freely,
Possibly altering faith, love.
Holding
To knowing life –
Assured in greatness;
Never giving up,
Victory counted dear, very near,
Climb, effectuate blessedness.

Thank you for visiting Haphazard Creative. I hope it was a pleasant experience. If you wish, follow the site, or come back in the future.

I am trying this year to return to the original form of Creativity Project used on Chronicles. I included more elements each day than I did in 2020 on Haphazard Creative.

Priceless Heroes

Another shift,
Will additional hours be required?
From the beginning, nurses, doctors –
Going short of peaceful sleep.
Families wondering when
All members will again meet.
The coronavirus, cruel
As a murderer, random as
A violent hurricane.
Every day at least one
Slips away in isolation
From those loved and cherished.
Caregivers struggle with guilt,
Was enough done?
Why this senseless loss?
So many battles fought,
So little medicine can do,
Hoping always for a breakthrough.
Willing hearts on fire
With love for their fellow man
Sacrificing whatever they can
To beat a disease consuming
People throughout all lands.
Loving, like angels, sharing
All their being to help those
Who continue to need them.

Gratitude…
I had an assignment today.
Writing helped clear my doubt away.
The day has run long, so I got things done.
Even when I cannot believe in myself, God believes in me.
The magic of music.

Assuredly

Time may dump you in waters deep,
Leave you alone to flounder, sink,
But as the depths surround you
Be confident you will not drown,
Love will find you, stopping the tide,
Pulling you to safety, letting you rise
To live a better being, a magnificent life.
When the storms, which sometimes come
Make you doubt, tremble, fear, remember –
Love holds you, stand fast, be brave,
Let Love be your guide, never forgetting
You are precious, treasured, to live life.

You probably recall, when I use Love, it often relates to God.

As a prompt, challenge yourself to create something that will uplift you and others. Any media is okay; do the work and make something.

Gratitude List
Today was better than yesterday.
I talked to people who helped me.
I mastered some tech.
I sheltered the Explorer from the rain.
I picked up the mail.

Free Standing

Never give in, up,
To fade away, all die down,
Endeavor to share
The things found until changes
Hold fear no longer, but fly.

Love is the reason
No one can stoop low to die;
Life becomes complete.
