A Few Reviews

Surrender by Bono is a not to be missed autobiography, especially if you are a U2 fan. Refreshingly candid and very enlightening about a star and his struggles with faith and fame. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I am not a huge film fan, being more at home in the world of words, but I am impressed with some content I have recently viewed.

Top Gun Maverick became a blockbuster and after watching it, I see why that is so. Lovely film.

The three John Wick movies are awesome if you like a good story with non-stop action. I love fast-paced videos.

We Have A Ghost is a beautiful narrative, well acted, and superbly plotted. Warning: You may need a Kleenex.

You know I have to say something about my favorite band. GRRR by the Rolling Stones is an excellent set of tracks.

I got these up a bit late for streaming this weekend, but maybe next week.

Not Luck

I was sitting in
A swamp turned out and over,
Lightning crashed, hard down,
I was almost forever drown
Tears were overcoming me;
Then a cry arose
Clarion against my foes,
Sounding like a rose
Banner wrapping me within
Telling me begin again.
Never forsaken –
Come now, new heart, awaken
To a ground safe, firm,
Rock, I may stand complete on
The Beloved beckons, come.
Treasure hidden bright
Revealed in Love’s sterling Light
Abandon the night
Day brilliant invites delight
Heed the sweetest voice calling –
Redemption,mercy,
Abounding, amazing grace,
Sudden about-face
Into arms held wholly wide,
All fear spirited aside.
Severe hurt confide
Those things hidden inside
Pain, deep oxidized,
No more jeopardy – set free,
Found, restored, life’s sanctity.

Ever-More

When you feel
When you are real
When you willingly reveal
The truth of things
You are going through
You transmit the depth
Of your self, your soul,
To those who meet you
On the page, the stage,
In life as the living goes.
Everyone present becomes,
Knows the reality, creativity,
Emotion and reason
Flow and grow beyond
Illusion filling the senses
Overcoming restrictions
With the boundless force
Of everlasting love;
Differences drop away
Everyone opens themselves
All who are, meet, are one.
So be courageous when you
Perform your acts of devotion
Allow without concealing
Be authentic, be you,
Be alive with the love
That reveals precisely who you
Live the freedom to be.
Never hide how much you feel
The depth of all the caring,
You are a gift to lift the lives
Of others who are here, humanity.

Me today.

Abbreviated

Richard’s beautiful Orange Tabby, who is never entirely sure I am okay. Tonight I agree with him because I seem to have acquired a toothache that is also a headache.

I returned my DirecTv equipment today, so I have cut the cord and sunk the satellite. The amount of television I watch is so minimal; I probably will never miss it.

I do recommend streaming Peaky Blinders, Good Omens, and The Expanse. I only finished Good Omens. On Audible, I loved The Sandman. If you gathered, I am a Neil Gaiman fan; you read clues well.

The poem so heavy with images was an experimental rewrite; I probably should post the original of Same. I am on my phone tonight without my computer because I have been spending some respite time with Richard. It will wait. I do not like poetry on mobile because it always inserts extra spaces when I write.

Prompt: Tell someone you love that you do.
