Day 113 – 2022 Creativity Project

Break Free

The timeless appeal
Of bottomless foundations
Leave one another
To dredge rivers of hope, need,
But still coming between – greed.
Advantage follows
The stronger needing duties
Performed with slim thanks
Not often heeding complaints,
Or recognizing stolen dreams.
The ages roll, roles
Still favor some, limit others,
There is no parity
Equality, an ugly myth
Blinding many to problems.
If one stands up, out,
It may not mean advancement
The ceiling rises
The walls grow ever thicker
But it is not done, over,
Time will see the flight
The scaling of every height
So run, run well, catch the light,
Winning brings freedom and delight.

I read an article in American Scholar that inspired this poem. I also picked the word bottomless from a vocabulary list.

I hope this finds you in pleasant moments. I would appreciate your likes, comments, follows, and shares.

Prompt: pick something you read and a random word, create from there.

2022 Creativity Project – Day 105

Regained

Love is the absence of fear
     Standing close to the fire
But not near enough to burn
         Only warmth and light provided
            To draw forth kind comfort.

Seeing is excellent
     But clear vision is better
Being able to read and write
         Without squinting or mistakes,
Knowing what is and is not.

Hearing is needful
     But listening makes clear
         The meaning of the conversation
            With less room for confusion
               Helping dispel some delusions.

Life is love
    When little doubt, less pain
     Is in life entertained
     When many things are hard
There is less to run toward,
But love still holds arms out
     All the reasons known about
     Inviting the troubled soul
     To embrace, climb aboard,
     Action taken, shaken, love restores
     Calm gentleness brings peace,
     Into heart, mind, soul, evermore.

Tribble and Wookie – © Jo Ann J. A. Jordan

We went outside for a little bit, beyond usual walks. Before I got the phone out to take the picture, they were looking at me. Normal thing with these two, no photographs, please.

Gratitude: I had a free unexpected free day. It was beautiful outside. I found something I misplaced. I colored a little. Reading good books.

Prompt: Make a work of creativity of your day.

Thank you so much for visiting. Like, follow, comment, and share as you choose. Have a blessed Good Friday or as you celebrate otherwise. Love to you and yours always.

2022 Creativity Project – April 2

Edge of Dreaming

Footsteps like snowflakes
Track along slender edges
Of a welcome dream
Where though long over, a love,
Survives the mists hiding time.
Clinging to sentences
Maybe voiced or perhaps dreamed,
They create a smile
In innocent forever
There is happiness again.
Somethings sweetest hold
Onto semiconsciousness
And in bleak moments
Arrive within to carry
Pleasure and hope continuing;
Augmenting belief
In the goodness of living
So one steps forward
Not forsaking the future
But attempting to obtain
Such love as is possible.

2022 Creativity Project – April 1

Enough To Do

Completion of tasks
Long undone provides a sense
Of accomplishment
That borders on mystical
A release, approbation.
Overcoming blocks
And procrastination is
Difficult to do
But when the dam is broken
Blessings flow straight into view.
Life is a constant
Fight against forces that curb
Enthusiasm,
Restraining creativity
Leeching imagination.
Breaking through to
Rewards and employing faith
In God’s continual
Love, grace, mercy bestows strength
With positive energy
To live productively and endure.
