Partaken For Good

Positive interaction is a significant boost to the confidence and well-being of those around us. Kind words and gestures help prevent depression and despair.

As we communicate through creative means, we are gifting with elements of our hearts. When there is trouble, the most effective remedy is love. Comfort is conveyed by hugs, generosity, extending help, confirming personal value, and many other kindnesses.

While contact is severely limited for our safety, we should still be close to those we consider our tribe. Family and friends we trust to take adequate precautions should be our continuing connections to some normalcy.

We can never express our love too often. Saying, “I love you” becomes essential because life is a limited engagement without firm guarantees. We are sturdy but also fragile.

We need one another and require emotional support in our relationships. Doubt and fear are widespread. We combat these by investing ourselves in others in any way possible. Creative expression is an excellent outlet we use to encourage, inspire, and lift the spirits of people we value. Being considerate and providing uplifting communication is fundamental to acting out our creativity and making the world a better place.

Creating is like
Diving deep in icy water.
It wakes us up
Revives our will to love,
Give everything to our efforts,
Stake a claim for the life we live,
Encourage, inspire, aspire,
To lives that possess joy,
Reach for happiness.
Let us come out of the depths,
To bear witness to a present,
Future pursuing continual progress.

Prompt: Consider how creativity can make the situation all of us are facing with masks, distancing, quarantine, fear, into a better experience. Create something that brings that to the surface.

Gratitude Today
Alex and I went out for lunch.
I got new brushes since mine was misplaced.
Alex’s cat, who had been missing since before Christmas, appeared today and is now inside as she should be.
I am using a copy stand that dates back to 1981.
Even when I think there is nothing in the well, the well bubbles up with unexpected gifts.

Poems, Notes, Reaching Up

A child grows beyond
The imagination of
A parent, success.

*******

Don’t blame the rain
For the renewed tears and pain,
It is the season.

*******

The song is a balm
Making this life bearable,
Keep the music on.

*******

If I held your heart
Would you let my love remain
Despite everything,
I am beset with fears, failures,
But my heart is true to you.

*******

Prompt: Create something or a series of things that are short but complete. There are no rules, except anything is acceptable. Do not try to be perfect; it is impossible; be talent on display.

Gratitude Today:
My package came, not where they claimed.

Voyage

The sails are paper-thin
The boat afloat in the wind
Tossed about by frothing waves
Days fast passing, a coming of age,
No slowing, nor stopping, keep coping,
With the turning, another completed page;
The calendar with its blotted stains
Marks the passage, victories, and pains.

Shining faces graced by sweetest smiles,
Blessings, dreams, hopes continually persist,
Never obsolete, out of fashion or style.

The paper sails of fragile ships set
Upon streams to weather storms
Tack away from all extremes
Which threaten the mercurial existence
Of a future freely brought by invention,
With creativity, heart, and intuition
Souls dance love, meaning, gentleness,
Composing lives, elements of all that is.

GRATITUDE
My son, Alex, is here to spend a few days.
I warmed the house enough, I can wear a tee-shirt.
Work was done on the theme here.
Had an M&M Blizzard today.
Just thankful for blessings.

Prompt
If you are not already doing the practice of noting your gratitude, I suggest you do it. It is a buoyant practice.

Keeping, As Might

© Jo Ann J. A. Jordan

Maybe it is such
An easy thing for some, but
For others proves a trial,
Errors
Continue adding up,
Dark clouds fill the horizon.
A refusal to quit
Being, dreaming, hoping,
Unfathomable
As specific thoughts may seem
An allowance meted freely,
Possibly altering faith, love.
Holding
To knowing life –
Assured in greatness;
Never giving up,
Victory counted dear, very near,
Climb, effectuate blessedness.

Thank you for visiting Haphazard Creative. I hope it was a pleasant experience. If you wish, follow the site, or come back in the future.

I am trying this year to return to the original form of Creativity Project used on Chronicles. I included more elements each day than I did in 2020 on Haphazard Creative.

Priceless Heroes

Another shift,
Will additional hours be required?
From the beginning, nurses, doctors –
Going short of peaceful sleep.
Families wondering when
All members will again meet.
The coronavirus, cruel
As a murderer, random as
A violent hurricane.
Every day at least one
Slips away in isolation
From those loved and cherished.
Caregivers struggle with guilt,
Was enough done?
Why this senseless loss?
So many battles fought,
So little medicine can do,
Hoping always for a breakthrough.
Willing hearts on fire
With love for their fellow man
Sacrificing whatever they can
To beat a disease consuming
People throughout all lands.
Loving, like angels, sharing
All their being to help those
Who continue to need them.

Gratitude…
I had an assignment today.
Writing helped clear my doubt away.
The day has run long, so I got things done.
Even when I cannot believe in myself, God believes in me.
The magic of music.

Prompt: Create something that illustrates your gratitude.
