Images, Imagined

Entry Five – 2023 Creativity Project

Like photographs falling out of a pocket, scattered hither and yonder, we live these days, morphing from now to ever.

I collect things, pens, journals, books, images, and feelings. Never know when I might find myself in need, so I squeeze things in, some with ease. Others come harder, jagged, and broken, but those find meaning, too.

PROMPT: Go somewhere, familiar or strange, take photographs that soothe or move you. See if you have words to fit the images. Try them out to fit. Post if you can and will.

There is something I want to catch. I have not gotten it yet. Maybe I will share it when I do. Today came close, but we all know there are times when images play us for fools, spooling out with bartered charm.

He is my son, Alex’s dog, and I am captivated by his strength and how he simetimes seems pensive and aloof.

I caught other photographs, but maybe these are enough for today. I do not know, indeed cannot say for sure, but I might bog someone down. Time will keep, until it does not, then it will slide out and away.

Thankful for these, Today:

1.  Oreo cookies.
2.  The pen I photographed above is a spirit of music, and music is a muse.
3.  January, days when the depth and darkness seem to fall away.
4.  Finishing reading the first book in the new year.
5.  Sleep.

Thanks for popping by to visit my site. I hope you found encouragement or perhaps inspiration. You can click the button to subscribe if you care to do so. It will set you up for updates when I post. If you liked what I brought, please let me know what you thought with a like or comment, or should you wish both. This lets me know these thoughts are not simply going into the void. Maybe it allows me to focus a little more clearly on what gives value.

Always & Ever,
Jo Ann

Never Giving Up

We have the hard hurt down
Knocking us roughly around
But we keep reaching higher
Trusting God to lift us out,
Because Jesus is stronger
Than every personal storm,
He has been fighting longer
Than we have ever known.
Our Lord, what he has begun,
He will never desert
He fights against our hurt,
Tears may often fall
But Christ hears every call
He will be with us, exceeding
Each need throughout eternity.
Our struggles shall not be lost
Jesus paid our debt upon His Cross
He counted our lives
Worth sacrifice at any cost,
We can stand with Him
When our lives are most grim;
Our Savior will come again
He will gather us all in
He promised a home with Him.
Come now, each who has trouble
Jesus will gladly meet our needs
When we place our trust in Him.

When days try to beat us, we have a Redeemer. I am thankful that Jesus Loves me, even in my desperation.

I pray you find strength in Him to weather every storm. He is greater than everything that attempts to harm us.

Connections Play

There is no secret
No perfect way to handle
All the things life gives –
It is only now, living
Through each moment, we are, have.
Alarm bells clanging,
Favorite songs playing, blare,
Everything is there
To keep us wanting, needing –
Engaged in doing, being.
We are the present
Happening over, in time,
Carrying talent
Gifts to share fairly and kind
Leaving no regrets behind.
Love is our reason
Even when we cannot rhyme
In all the doing
Filling each second of life –
Understanding the plot line.

Sunday’s Thoughts

© Jo Ann J. A. Jordan

I wrote these with a fountain pen, which is not my best instrument. These are my journal pages. If you read them, you will get insight into where and what my state of mind is.

I would have scanned them into the computer, but my equipment and the program did not cooperate with me. Therefore, I did the phone as I have for the past months.

Showing journal pages is a level of openness I can do, but it is a bit uncomfortable. I have no idea how this audience will react, so it is a gamble.

How revealing can you be? Consider that a prompt.

Blessings, I hope, always find you. Jesus, lend you peace. Live, alive, and Love cause that is why we are here on Earth.

Another House

This novel…
We’ve been writing
Over these many years,
It seems maybe more like
A collection
Of disparate stories,
Playing a soundtrack
Yours and mine –
The music,
Not the voice,
We just hit a groove
Wicked and smooth,
Winning –
Ah, loose like tigers
Jungle bait,
Antelopes far-fetched,
Can you make
The lesson
Stick like darts
On the dress, never
Worn, given out
With drinks
Not ours to consume.
Still, I know,
Some assume,
Illusions dispelled
Yet and soon,
Together forever
In miles set apart
Known, each
And ever
By heart.

This bit of riff is brought to you by listening to VooDoo Lounge, courtesy of The Rolling Stones.

Prompt: What music do you create with? Turn it up, LOUD! Find yours.

Stranger and not, the things that happen when I sit in the dark.
