2022 Creativity Project – Day 4

My son, Alex, gave me this book for Christmas. I was surprised because he complains about the number of volumes I have. Looking at this gorgeous knowledge base, I understand.

Coming into a new year, one is often hopeful for change and positive outcomes. I am mapping out what I hope to accomplish.

Settling into today with a steadfast commitment to dreams with a probability of success.

Be the rebel, maverick, that shakes the floor and elevates everyone toward the ceiling.

Happen: because you are to be.

1
The music trembles
The body mumbles, rumbles, soft
The beginning comes;
Wonder captures wanderers
Somewhere delight shakes, titters.

2
Wherever fear lives
We must courageously find –
Evict the squatter,
No derelict habitude
Has consequence in our lives.

3
Waifs, wayfarers, flit
Like honeybees everywhere
Spites, spirits, going
Somewhere, elsewhere, forever
Temporary wind home.

Gratitude List
I am thankful:
1. I finally tried the wireless earbuds I got for Christmas and like them a lot.
2. Still getting used to the old-style keyboard, but it is getting easier.
3. Glad I decided to do a Creativity Project again.
4. Beginning to accept losing my Facebook account. Trying to like the new one.
5. Wookie and I are getting along somewhat better.

PROMPT
What is one creative thing you can do now that will get you closer to where you want to be before the end of the year? Implement this immediately. {My plan is to create something and share it here every day. I hope to come back and collect some of it.}

As most of you may know, I lost my Mom several years ago after being her full-time caregiver for some years.

We both collected cups, although Mom had an altogether more impressive cache having had more money to spend.

We were active in CBC as long as she could go without danger or humiliation. In the singles group, I met Bernice, but she soon became a treasured friend of us both. She gave my Mom the cup above, which is by far one of the most unique I have seen.

This work of art was stored in a curio cabinet in the common area. A few weeks ago, as I was walking my circle through the house, I heard the beginning of a crash.

I was right beside the cabinet on my path, and an assortment of glass, ceramic, and china things Mom collected and painted fell out on the floor. The stud that held the shelf let go and tilted so that with the accumulated weight, the door opened, and much tumbled out to shatter.

The unique cup Bernice gifted Mom was not on that shelf, thankfully. I have been moving it around the house, hoping to keep it safe.

I was crushed that several figures Mom painted after I taught her how to help with her tremors were destroyed. I hope there are no such future occurrences.

I think this cup is so unusual; I thought I would share.

Clamoring ashore
After rafting away on
The mud-riddled stream
Of a river hard lapping
At the seams, uncounted dreams.

Capturing belief,
An obstinant vocation –
Using wicked sieves
Made tender observations,
Leaves bound for future intrigues.

Language comes stumbling
Like a tired fugitive to light,
Pressing for freedom
A world gaining great delight;
Waters flood out with insight.

Hands reaching bloodied
Soft bathed by insistent tears,
Trundling through deep years
Where solace moments, slip past,
Drenched, shivering, home at last.

Unyielding

I have been told
I should yield
To the ordinary
Settle down
Settle in,
I considered it
Once,
But then again
I have too much
Difficulty
With those like
Them.
I am too
Different,
Too loud,
Too much
To bridle
Who I am,
I bring
Creativity
In order
Wherever
I am.
Life is
Love,
To inspire,
Encourage,
Bring
Wanderers
To be found.
I am unable
To slow down,
Time goes too
Fast to let it
Pass without
Living it sound
Aloud.

Sweet Surprise

I returned an item to my Sister-in-Law, Linda, this afternoon. We had some pleasant conversation. I was happy to visit.

Then she said this is a birthday/Christmas present, and gave me these lovely things. I was surprised and joyful. I mean, WOW! I cannot wait to finish my current journal, though sadly, it will be a while.

We talked about church, and I said I was not going. She invited me to come to her church, which was my church before, and that may happen.

I need more personal interaction. I have very nearly become a hermit.

Anyway, beautiful things given to me by a very dear person.
